Drawing is not something you can really compare to other people, as with any learning, some move faster than others and some are better at drawing somethings than others.

You need to judge your art on yourself, based on how much time you spend on it, and how much you have seen yourself doing wrong since the last few drawings. That's also something that you can't base on someone else view on what's wrong with your work. Cause while sure, anybody should be allowed to critique, the way you view and draw the world is your own observation.

Agreed with the above. Enjoying yourself is the important part, and I don't see any 'step back', personally.
