Through spells, swords and muskets, William, Alexandra and Zeroelle fend off an attack. Demons? Skeletons? Tax Collectors? Who knows!
I never finished this one because I couldn't get the background to work for me. I blow at backgrounds. By the time I willed myself up to try it again, I realy no longer held much love for this image, especially because it had Alex's old facial style and I just didn't really care to re-do that. Was pretty pleased with how Will and his top hat came out, though.
I should really draw Alex casting some of her crazy magic properly sometime. Also, I TOLD you I could draw five fingers!

Nice picture. One quick gripe tho? From being military-trained, how William is crouched over there is not only very hard on his knees, it also makes aiming very very rough. Plus, having one of his thighs be scant centimeters from his chest is pretty painful to look at. Other than that, the dynamic here works very well!
I don't quite understand fighting with a very small dagger in one hand and a two-handed broadsword in the other, but if she can pull it off, hey...won't see me challenging her!

Oh, I'm sure it is. And that's exactly the point: William isn't militarily trained. :) Hell, he had to invent the gun in his universe! So there's lots of fun with him making things and not knowing the 'proper' way to use them, because who's gonna tell him otherwise? Besides, it's a blunderbus, you might as well be politely suggesting where it'll go. XD However, his pose being physically impossible was one reason why I didn't pick this up- I do recognize that much.
Zeroelle does fight with that odd combination of weapons indeed- a zweihander and a main gauche- because she has the kind of main strength to make the former work, and the dexterity to keep the mailbreaking, swordbreaking secondary weapon active. It's very weird to observe.

<nods> If it was your intent, then good stuff, Maynard. After all, I would never think to say that you can or cannot draw your characters doing things their own way. My only real beef is that I know kneeling and shooting like that would not only be painful, but would also cause your nuts to be crushed by your pants fabric.
As for Zeroelle...damn. Now I'm thinking a fight between her and Zeph would be the stuff of epicness. He's a classic swordsman and would love that kind of challenge.

I like this a lot :) The three of them look very cool each doing their thing (I'll admit I particularly like top hat guy with his imbued blunderbus, fancy vest and facial hair :P), and of course Alex brings the gorgeously shaped gravity defying torpedos :P. Plus I've always had a thing for swords. So, yeah, I like it. ^^
And I'd like to see Alex doing that, yeah. I so need to draw Stelard doing her thing some time too; show the non-BE-victim side a bit, you know?
