In these days of thirty and fifty (or more) round magazines, I strongly believe the only reason to issue a bayonet is for purposes of intimidation.

I should talk. I have two Swiss Model 1957 bayonets. Not because I collect bayonets (these are the only ones I own), but because they're probably the most beautiful ones I've ever seen, they're made by (one each) Wenger and Victorinox (I do collect Swiss Army knives), and they were made the same year I was.
