A member of the Firebird family, the Flaming Peackatoo (Peacock+Cockatoo) is a rare parrot-like bird found in the deepest darkest recesses of the wildest jungles. It eats fireberries and its feathers give off a soft golden light. Many legends surround the Flaming Peackatoo, but the notion that if you steal one of its feathers it will grant you a wish is complete poppycock: the best thing you will get is a very nasty bite. The worst… well, they don't call them flaming for nothing.
Colored pencils on black matboard. This is a small (5"x7") piece that will be going to the Further Confusion art show next month in San Jose. Yes! I am going to another art show in San Jose, in fact, FC is in the exact same hotel as the WFC was. I wonder if they will be using the same pegboard and hooks. XD
Anyway, enjoy!

Woah, this is beautiful! It is amazing how much different paper colour affects to the outcome. ^^ The bird's chest/tummy area looks so good - I like the empty area on his tummy and the underlined chest (with yellow colour). They make the bird's front look so good! And great tail feathers. I would like to have some black paper too... :3
Beauuuutiful work! <3
