A specific event happens within the Ephalon story line that triggers Asura to transform into this beast.
It's never explained if it's because of the mystical power within the gemstone on her necklace, or if she always was like this and just never knew.
Asura has the ability to induce a pleasure state within anyone she digs her tongue into. The endorphins that are released because of this feed her.
Asura Daemon, on the other hand, induces a nightmare state which creates intense fear within her victim, and it fuels her desire instead.
