A (very) short story I scribbled up to commemorate Victoria Day - a minor holiday celebrated in Canada on the last Monday prior to May 25th (the day after the late Queen Victoria's birthday), but apparently unknown in the rest of the commonwealth.
Because its date fluctuates every year and most people have no idea why it's celebrated (Queen Victoria played a significant role in Confederation), it tends to sneak up on people as it did the Kitten family in this story.
