Normally, Rath's fighting style relies more on hand-based strikes (punches, chops, knife hand strikes, etc.), but he does still use kicks, otherwise he'd just be a glorified bare-knuckle boxer. The fact that he doesn't use kicks as often as punches doesn't mean they're any less devastating if they land, either. In fact, he could take you apart with his feet just as effortlessly as with his hands.

As for why he's come to prefer punches over kicks... maybe it's because they require you to get in close, with close-quarter fighting being something he excels at.
