It follows the guidelines though -
Upload Policy for general content is:
Nudity - Free of nudity of any kind, as well as outlines of genitalia, sheaths, female nipples, or detailed/exaggerated bulges. Nudity is defined as the open display of genitalia or exposed female nipples.
This piece shows no nudity, so it should be fine

Sexual of excessive fetish?
I don't think wearing -or showing- a bikini counts in this situation
The character shown doesn't look flirty, it doesn't show nipples .. so idk - wouldn't describe it as sexual content
but really I guess it's a thing of interpretation, and I'm not here to argue :)

Well, people who block other people win the argument, right? That's what they did.
So here, you can have it.
Sexual doesn't immediately mean fetish. Something can have sex appeal without it being fetishized. Ergo it having a sexual theme.
Undressing or revealing clothes is generally seen as alluring, and as such, sexual behaviour.
Your obvious bait says more about your own bigotry than mine.

..therefore, summer is a sexual season because it is hotter and provokes people to wear less clothing, revealing more of their disgusting, disgusting primate flesh.
Quod erat demonstrandum, no fewer than three months of the year require a "Mature" rating.
I can see why you won a full scholarship at Bloxford University with highbrow moves like that, though. :y

Oh yes. It's obviously fitting to wear just lingerie and swimsuits while at work. Or when walking about outside when it's an early cold spring.
What are these awful strawman arguments? She's flashing her underwear, it has sexual context.
The comments below here also point out that this is supposed to be a "casual undressing". Whereas there's a topless version, that makes it sexual by default. And before you bring in the argument "oh so it's boobs so it's sexual", YES. The rules point out that nipples on boobs is not okay and nipples on men is, so go figure.
Oh and pretty much nobody undresses like that with a single finger while looking with a half shut eye towards the viewer without it having sexual subtext.
Grow up.
Oh as for miss fuckfit above you: Replying to my comments while having ME blocked? Consider yourself blocked as well.
I'm honestly curious why you insert yourself into squabbles like these when your profile literally and elaborately states your self-recognition of your instability.

That's not lingerie though. There is absolutely nothing sensual/sexual/pornographic about this picture other than how you are seeing it. She looks more like a woman who's irritated and hot and airing out her chest than someone trying to seduce someone.Women wear more exposing clothing than this to beaches in public, do you think women in swimsuits is inherently meant to be sexual?? And honestly, if you go to a beach and are sexualizing women or men there, you are the problem.
It's not sexual because it's not sexual.
It's not sexual because it's not sexual.
I'll refer you to this comment above, with the addition:
Imagine thinking that just because you can dress yourself in one way in one place meaning you can do it anywhere else as well.
So because nude beaches exist, you should be allowed to walk around anywhere naked?
And because lingerie photoshoots exist, you're allowed to walk anywhere in lingerie?
And because porn exists...
Straw. Man. Arguments. Get out.

Honestly you seem like deadset on being wrong and arguing regardless of a picture's context because she happens to have cleavage and be wearing a bikini top. And it is horrifying that people like you actually exist and think that a woman having breasts existing means it's something sexual and/or pornographic. It is not a good mindset to have and I really hope you rid yourself of it.
Regardless, I'm done arguing it cause you seem a hell of a lot more emotionally invested in it than anyone else is. If you actually think it's a problem, report it to admins instead of telling everyone else how bikinis = porn.

Did you even read what I wrote?
If someone fully dressed makes pelvic thrusts, if someone dressed in a bikini starts pole-dancing, if someone in their underwear is laying on a bed, is that not loaded with sexual subtext? Great. Now that that's gotten through to you, then you can realize that subtext can be in anything, including clothing. Meaning that up until this image is on the beach, it's lacking that specific subtext, and that argument is void.
We're only talking about this specific piece, and the obvious subtext this has, which amusingly has to do with her face AND her action, and nothing with how I supposedly sexualize things. Ad hominem much?
Your interpretation of this piece is interesting, but generally people don't flash their underwear when airing out. If or when they do this in public, it'll get stares, and depending on where you are in public, something will be said about it, if it isn't outright illegal. Yes. Illegal.
Oh and yes. Obviously the best way to win every argument is to block people and say you're right. Good job Bourbon. Some real merit there.
EDIT: As for your other comment:
We're talking sexual subtext here. Something that can be seen as mature. I never said this should be tagged adult, learn the difference.
Oh and "Bikinis = porn", lol, way to miss the point, miss black&white. Get out.

Would you go to the beach and start telling everyone there to go put clothes on because it's not appropriate for your work?
I'll agree that most work places would not appreciate this content, but that doesn't matter, because, again, we follow the site guidelines.

That is a really interesting situation, actually, the more I think about it.
With the presumption that they willfully let you browse FA, knowing what it is (rather than it-just-has-not-been-blacklisted-yet), but would still hold you accountable for (what is, evidentially) a SFW filter "grey-zone" feels more like a wager than a permission. XD
"Go ahead and walk through the minefield as much as you like, if it entertains your danger fetish. We have marked most of the mines, but you know, these things are never 100%.
If you detonate one we will dock your pay the cost of the cleanup and for replacing the land mine. Do not allow clients to see you out there."
I do not feel like anyone who would knowingly let you browse FA would chide you for stumbling onto what is, at the absolute outside, a single ultrasoftcore rendering. ;3

Wasn't going to fall in here, but the pompous "continue being wrong" warrants a response, because you're the one who's wrong.
Mew is far from the only one to have issues with these things; I know aplenty, they're just the only one to speak up, so it's not just a "Mew" problem.
Most people haven't even bothered speaking up because of people like you, who like to belittle them just because they're a minority. A minority who have a harmless request towards the people who like skirting on the ambiguity of the rules.
Whenever I come across something that's supposed to be tagged differently, I simply give them a comment, as opposed to vindictively reporting them in the hopes that their submissions get taken down as a supposed lesson for the future.
The idea alone that Mew got so much bloody shit from just ASKING if it could be put on mature is absolutely mind-shattering.
Be ashamed of yourself.

Be ashamed of yourself.
First, in response to "be ashamed of yourself," HA! No. Being in the right, I've got nothing to be ashamed about.
Second, the rules are not being skirted. If they were, someone from FA's admin team would have taken action against the picture, and we wouldn't be having this teaching moment. At THAT point, you would have a case. Since we are not at that point, you don't have a case. There is no ambiguity here. Either the rules are being broken, or they're not. And since FA have not stepped in, it's reasonable to assume that the rules are not being broken.
Third, I'm not belittling Mew -- or now, you -- because you're a minority; I'm belittling Mew and you because you're both wrong, but you think you're right. The submission fits under the conditions of a 'general' rated post, as in "fit for all ages." The argument being made by Mew is that it should fall under "mature," but this image does not contain any of the following:
Gore
Violence
Tasteful/artistic nudity (there is no nudity in this image)
Mature themes (wearing a swimsuit under a tanktop is not a mature theme)
And as such, while it CAN be filed under mature if the artist chooses, it does not NEED to be.
Finally, LevelViolet is not responsible for Mew's ill-chosen decision to browse FurAffinity while at work. FurAffinity is a site that showcases explicit, pornographic digital and hand-drawn artwork in addition to art that is safe for work. As such, the potential ALWAYS exists that someone, at some time, might accidentally post a piece of art under SFW rating, when it's entirely not the case. As such, someone using SFW browsing always has the potential to come across something explicit. As such, it would just be good practice and common sense to NOT browse FurAffinity while at work, and ESPECIALLY not on a company asset. That choice -- and it's consequences, both potential and real -- is entirely on Mew, and she should take responsibility for it. Shifting the responsibility onto LevelViolet would only be appropriate if this image was in fact NSFW. It's not. It falls within the parameters of a general post. This makes Mew's demand inappropriate, and she's rightly being criticized for it. LevelViolet is not responsible for Mew's poor decision making.

Wow, it's almost as if the FA staff is subjective and inconsistent, and forced a mature rating (and enacted a ban of all things) on this general as heck image: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/25322922/ See, this is evidence exhibit A.
This alone means your argument of "I'm right because FA staff is okay with this" has no leg to stand on, nor is it a teaching moment.
Subjectively, this can be viewed as stripping, there's no argument why it could not be, which belongs in: Sexual Situations - Free of sexual or excessive fetish themes with exception of brief displays of affection, such as a kiss or hug.
Seeing this is entirely subjective, it can and most definitely is skirting the rules, and as such should be general.
Your words weight just as much as mine, but I didn't go about bashing a person who simply ASKED for something. I'm here to make them not feel like complete trash for asking something nicely and entirely reasonable.
Them browsing FA at work has literally no impact on any of this, because this comes down to rules, not to them explaining why exactly they'd like the rules to be followed consistently.

Yeah, that is a general image. The admin who compelled Iskra to mark it as mature is in the wrong, and should have their status as admin revoked.
Sure there's an argument why it could not be: The intent of the artist. And since the artist is very much alive, and has herself originally posted it as General art, the intent is clear. Subjective interpretations that deviate from the artist's are therefore irrelevant, except in matters where it's obvious the artist is intending to deceive the audience OR too stupid to recognize the rules their art breaks and why. A hypothetical example would be labeling explicit pornography as General art and coming up with an excuse, no matter how elaborate, of the artist's intention is for it to be something viewable for the general public.
Finally, Mew is not being bashed for asking the art to be labelled as 'mature.' At least, not by me. I'm bashing her for asking LevelViolet to cater to her personal tastes so that when she browses FurAffinity at work, she doesn't risk getting in trouble. LevelViolet is not responsible for Mew's poor decision.

The thing with the Iskra pic is she has cameltoe. FA policy changed a little while back where nipple bulge/cameltoe/crotch bulge are all considered mature content. I had a few of my pics reported and re-tagged awhile back for violating the policy. From the "General" policy outline: Nudity - Free of nudity of any kind, as well as outlines of genitalia, sheaths, female nipples, or detailed/exaggerated bulges. Nudity is defined as the open display of genitalia or exposed female nipples.
I still disagree with it personally cause hard nipples happen and it's not inherently sexual. Regardless, this pic doesn't fall under the mature guidelines cause there's nothing sexual, no nipple bulge, etc.
Also strange they keep acting like Mew is being attacked. I like Mew and have worked with her on a few occasions, she's not being attacked. People are just disagreeing that this is mature content because it isn't.

Омегалул, УДОЛИ! :"D

I understand why FA need a rating for art. And I agree that it must be respected. However, that strange incident did indeed occur, and this still worries many artists.
Well, for me - you speak another language. I see no reason to weakly write sentences in a non-native language, if we are fluent in another one with the author of this picture. And I appeal to her and not to someone else. ┐('~`;)┌

I'm not entirely sure what strange incident you're referring to, but I personally stick to "if in doubt, mature". And I still say this should be too. She has bedroom eyes, she's flashing underwear/bikini, and apparently there's a topless version. This all meaning that this has an obvious sexual subtext and as such should be rated mature.
I figure the best way to judge if something should be tagged mature is: "Would you be comfortable if the characters in the image would be underage?". If it's a no, then it has a sexual subtext and it should be mature.
FA is a predominantly English site. The rules are in English and no other languages. No, there's no rule that you NEED to talk in English, but it IS common courtesy to talk in a language everyone can understand. Especially when talking about other people, that's just underhanded.
Just as FYI, English isn't my main language either. But seeing the site is, and you need to know English to maneuver the site, I stick to that. I'm also someone who'll always try to help people if they can't figure something out in English, but heck if I'd ever talk in my native language.

The person was blocked for a while, for the fact that she indicated this picture as “General”
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/25322922/
And you forgive me, I do not see sexual implication here. Now is the time that many see sexual overtones where there is none.
I know that basically everyone on the site speaks English, but I see no reason to speak with a person in another language if we understand each other better. And since there is no ban on other languages, I will speak as I see fit. In addition, it does not concern anyone except me and LV
Have a nice day.

Ah, the singular detail I could point out on that image is the crease at her crotch that would imply genitals. But otherwise that's fairly harsh. People also don't just get banned out of nowhere, so this must have been a repeat offense. And if they do ban out of nowhere, then that's just anal.
Again, the expression on her face easily sets the subtext on this image.
I'll also not understand why people are so AGAINST putting a mature tag on things. If you do, it'll just get more exposure.
If there were a place on the site like the RU-Furs group page, I could fully understand people talking in their own tongue there all the time. But in general, just out there; much like when you would be out in public IRL, I'll never find it not rude.
Regardless, thanks for replying in English, and have a nice day as well!

i just showed my coworkers this piece and none of them really saw anything wrong with it. one of them even said, "well maybe she's just hot and taking her shirt off. guys do it all the time." you see half naked victora secret models in malls all the time where children are frequently present lol...
anyway that aside, this piece is absolutely stunning WOW. your attention to detail is always a jaw dropper, and the textures on this picture really make it pop. amazing job!!! definitely need to get some work from you again when my paycheck permits me to do so. this is something i'd honestly blow up and hang in my living room.

Agreed!
First I used to think that clothed but shown nipples are still sfw, but someone explained me thet it's not. Now I wouldn't be surprised if the swimsuit is also considered as nsfw :) or swimsuit+lusting face maybe. But I'm glad that you and your coworkers don't see anything wrong here :3
Many thanks, I'm really glad you like it <3

A degenerate? I don't think you know what that word means lol. In any case, I did not want the submission's rating to be changed, so I am in the side that won regardless of what I do or not, and
I glorify the fact that it was not changed, because artists should be FREE from censorship, especially if it comes from bigots like you :3

It was a question, but I guess your answer was yes and you called yourself a degenerate, kind of answers your own question I guess.
But hey, I'm always up for some proper debate. As someone who absolutely loathes censorship I'd love it if you could explain how applying the (in)correct rating is censorship.
Additionally, feel free to point out why you think I'm a bigot, seeing I have made no statements or anything remotely close to them that would point out I'm intolerant towards anything here except for other people their rudeness, attitudes, and group mentality.

Me pointing out that you haven't bothered to grab a dictionary to educate yourself on the correct usage of a word automatically means I am the receptacle of the word? Non sequitum. Also, you tried to start shit, you tried to force the artist to change their rating so less audience could have access to her work, but in this battle of good (us) vs evil (you) we won and the rating remains general, your plans failed, you failed :3
No, me asking a question and you answering by acknowledging it and questioning my knowledge meant you called yourself a degenerate, I was merely asking a question. Pay attention. As for understanding its meaning? You never even bothered to ask which of the many interpretations I meant, how could you already tell me I'm using the word wrong? Talk about presumptuous.
I never started anything. Feel free to point out where I did. The only thing I "started" was actually quoting the rules and making the argument that due to the ambiguity of the rules, this image could easily fall under them.
As for the battle of good (us, we who actually care about correct ratings because some people prefer to avoid sexualized content) versus evil (you, who apparently only care about yourselves and don't have any good arguments as to why it shouldn't be mature, save for I guess exposure; even though works that are rated mature get around 10 times more views, still making it an awful argument), it's a shame evil won here.
Finally, no argument was made for the censorship, nor for the bigotry, meaning you're just throwing accusations around and are harassing me, much like a lot of others here.

Me pointing out taht you have no idea what the word means is, in no way, an acknowledgement of me having it as quality. Lol, the mere way in which you used it at first showed that you have (and continue to have) no idea of what the word means whatsoever, your ignorance reeks, it is something that can be easily intuited by reading you.
You started this, you thought that by interpreting the rules in your dumb, dogmatic and puritanical fashion you could get anyone convinced, but you failed, because your mentality is, duh, dumb, dogmatic and puritanical! If everyone thought the same way than you then women would walk the streets showing no part of their bodies, as people like you consider even skin to be "lascivious". The good, we who sought freedom and beauty through the creation and admiration of arts, won against you, the evil, who seek to censor beauty.
Also, pointing out your lack of sense is not harassing. Harassing is what you have done here, spamming an artist's submission with your nonsense. But everyone laughed at you, nobody took you seriously, and the content rating was not changed. At all. You had no power here. And you do not have, either.

You seem to be having some serious trouble actually reading what I've written down, seeing you consistently and apparently purposefully misinterpret me with the simple pure purpose to accuse me of things I haven't done, gloat about my supposed failure, and harass me.
Even though you can't be talked to, I'm still going to have to ask you to stop. I'm done talking to a wall.

Sounds like exactly the very thing you've done to everyone in this journal
Even though you can't be talked to, I'm still going to have to ask you to stop. I'm done talking to a wall.
Thus, I win.

You've never given any actual acts or quotes, just baseless accusations. I on the other hand have read, explained, quoted and explained some more as to why I stand behind my idea. Nor have I ever harassed anyone here without them harassing me first.
So that's a load of bullshit and defamy to boot. Which is harassment.
But sure, why not, you win the troll award, because that's the only thing you've done so far and managed to accomplish. Aren't you proud?

Goodness, such a mess over something so small....
But back to the Mare and her beauty, she is truly lovely my friend.
Her look says... so very much. Swiming might not be the only thing of interest to the good Mare.
I am always so fascinated by your ability to portray such emotion and beauty.
Such a lovely creature to gaze upon...
Thank you for sharing!
