Ah, I see we have a pair of fellow escape artists on our hands.
Ever since I (for lack of a better word) "escaped" to the park when I was 3, Mom's nickname for me was "Houdini". And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for the rain, concerned neighbors, and those nice police officers. The only reason my younger sibling and I never snuck out (myself again)… was because we had no where we wanted to go.

Policy is for problems that have already been solved. If X should happen, do Y, and things will work out.
Contingency plans are for problems that might occur, but may not have been solved yet. If C happens, try D, and that should give you good odds on working things out. If refined enough, they become part of policy, in case implementing Y does not solve X for some reason.
And then you have, "Oh cuss! Where did they go?! We are so dead!" Those are the fun plans. If you live, you get a good story out of it to tell at the bar. If not, maybe your gods will get a laugh out of it. =P

I love that third panel. Sandy's "I was afraid you'd say that" and the effect of seeing it through the through the blinds. Very cinematic
