Great little machines, I rarely use mine anymore, but I still like to take it out every once in awhile to exercise the shutter and shoot a roll. Film loading is different and can be tricky on these though.

is it really needed to cut the leader before inserting the roll? people dont seem to agree on that

With a lot of practice you may be able to get by without trimming the leader. I’ve always found it easier to trim first. Canon made a 28mm f2.8 that was supposed to be pretty nice. The widest LTM I’ve used is the Consina Voigtländer 35mm f/2.5 Color Skopar, very nice lens. I believe Voigtländer still makes a variety of Leica thread mount lenses.

Wides are tricky on these old Leicas. The rangefinder will compensate but you have to do some guessing on your framing unless you get an optional viewfinder.
