In Memoriam of
.
1963-2019 who lost his life recently to cancer.
It's sad when the older you get, the more artists who inspire you and sometimes were close to you are soon gone.
Although King wasn't exactly a close friend of mine, he was a great source of inspiration and inspired many others in terms of his artwork. As an art community sometimes a memorial piece is in order.
He did draw Lady Malmsteen on occasions; as seen here:

The Lady herself has come to pay her respects. Kneeling before King's grave and offering a candle burning in his memory.
Another OC of mine joins her in the form of Mai Ling. She genuflects before King's grave too. Sort of like how Chun Li did for her father in Street Fighter II's ending.
King also drew her once: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18634533/
The other two characters joining them were created by
but are used on his behalf by
. They are Rachel Wagsworth (in the black dress with the red hair) and the striped tabby in the suit Thomas Tabbyton. References to them can be found here:

As you can see, a majority of King's work was sexual; but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a dignified send-off from some of his art subjects.
This pic is for you King! Thank you for everything: the inspiration and the memories!
Now with my respects paid, it's time to return to work.

A fitting tribute to one of the furry pioneers. Along with Robert Hill from last year and Vicky Wyman (creator of Xanadu), we're reached the point to where the first furries are starting to depart from this world, and it's very saddening. Like you, this one was not a close friend to Shon Howell, but did speak to him several times through AIM at one point. He was a very polite, kindhearted gentleman who loved his work as an artist, even if most of it was naughty pinups and similar material. He set the stage for many other artists by inspiring them. Your work here pays well to his good memory with the Lady, after he graciously drew her twice, along with Mai Ling, your first sexy character to gain high popularity. His own original characters accompanying them have their own good respective looks for a memorial service with the black suit and dress. To the memory of Shon Howell, who gave much to the furry culture. May he be remembered positively.
Yes it’s sad times ahead when furry and anthro artists we admire or knew start disappearing from our world. At least they leave behind a legacy of artwork for us to enjoy!
King was one of my many inspirations and his drawings of Lady Malmsteen and Mai Ling will always be treasured by me! His talents are legendary!
I’m glad this pic commemorated him as well as I could make it. Thank u for your kind words bro.
