Oh, this has got to be the WORST piece I've seen in a long time! Awful, horrible, flawed all arou- *bursts out laughing* okay, didn't know how long I'd be able to keep a straight face. I read your journal about being persecuted on DA and let me just tell you- half of those "artists" are immature 12 year old douchebags with paintbrushes up their ass WISHING they could create such beauty as this. Your girlfriend is INCREDIBLY lucky and blessed to have someone as generous, loving and warm hearted as you to take the hours to craft something like this. I mean, getting a DD for it should tell you enough that those that rip on it harshly, are just jealous little shits.
In this piece I can really FEEL the passion and love you must feel for your beauty- her gentle expression, the light grip of her paws, and somber eyes. I can only imagine how much you worked on this just thinking about her.

Thanks. :D I hear that a lot, but actually I like working with the older models of Photoshop. I hate learning new shit. xD I finally had to upgrade to CS3 and it's making me cranky.
And yep, just used the air brush for the base colours and shading, then I go over it with the default hard brush to add detail layers.

Heh - trust me, I sympathize - I've been using Photoshop for 14 years, so the pain of upgrades has been pretty constant. :P It's a least a LOT more stable than it used to be. I'm on CS2 currently.
That's awesome fur detailing for just using a hard brush - must have taken a while to trace each out, but the end effect was really worth it. Now... you just have to work at converting your mate to a fur. ;)
