I wonder about the humans that are watching this speech, and how they feel about giving the technology to a group already talking about conquering the heavens. Guy in the first panel, on the left, doesn't seem impressed.
It's also possible humans are going to use this species as a way of cheap labor/warriors, or as a buffer against a currently-unknown opposing faction.

When you've been around for as long as the humans have. You know what can and can't be done.
