HEAD

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.
The head fits exactly as expected on my giant head. (They had me remeasure 3 times to make sure I was right about my head size!) The maker left room for my glasses under the head, and the eye and mouth holes line up perfectly with the holes on my actual face, letting me breathe well, and keeping my glasses defogged. The inside is felt-lined over the sculpted foam, wicks sweat well, and is easy to clean. The head does have a blind spot directly in front of the face, but being a toony sergal with a giant snoot it's exactly as I expected.

Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume piece looks from the outside.
The head features follow-me eyes that work well from many angles. The build is nearly perfectly symmetrical, with some slight cant to one of the ears. The fur is well-executed with an even shave and clean transitions between the two colors. There is no choppiness or unevenness to the shaving, and all transitions between shaved and unshaved are even. The facial markings are felt adhered to the fur. The fur has withstood repeated brushings as well as spot cleaning with a carpet cleaner to remove a tomato sauce incident.

How well does everything fit together and match up?
The head, handpaws, arm sleeves, and tail all work well together. All the components are constructed of fur with the same dye lot and all fur grain is matched to flow the same direction.


How easy was it to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Met the maker on a local Telegram group chat, quoting process was very easy and they provided illustrations of all the measurements they needed.


How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take the maker to get back to you?
The maker had excellent response time, at one point messaging me on Telegram from a craft store to make sure they had the exact color of paint to do the suit eyes.


How satisfied are you with the professionalism and customer service and of the maker?
The maker was very easy to work with. This was their first commission, so there were several "oh also!" moments, but overall a very good experience. They were clear about what I needed in measurements, and confirmed the measurements I provided when they were surprised at the size of my head.


How satisfied are you with how long your project took to complete?
The ETA was beaten by a surprising amount. I'm simply amazed at the quality of work I got in the time it took.


Are you happy with the product you received?
This project greatly exceeded my expectations. The head, paws, arm sleeves, and tail have stood up to repeated shipments by both road and aircraft, and I'm approaching 12 cons over 3 years with no real signs of deterioration due to poor workmanship.


Describe your overall experience with this maker.
TeeganBlu / Koda has greatly exceeded my expectations of a new maker by creating a wonderful suit that really brings my character to life. I'd highly recommend their work, and I don't think I could've chosen a better maker for my suit.
