I can't begin to explain how disgusted I am by what's going on in Alabama, Georgia and Ohio at the moment.
This isn't pro-life. It's pro-forced birth and Anti-UterusHavingPeople.
I'm not a member of the United States but I am someone who has a uterus and thank god I have control over what I do with it. These new bills make my skin crawl. It's a new low of wanting to control women/transwomen/anyone with a uterus and what they can/can't do with their bodies.
No exception for rape and/or incest. Disgusting.
Trying to pass bills to outlaw birth control. Abominable
Miscarriages punishable by lengthy prison time. Absolutely outrageous.
If you don't know what's going on or what this is about, I recommend you go look it up.
I have never felt more rage about something that doesn't immediately affect me. This is not okay.
Wake the fuck up.

"killing babies" isn't the point though.. The point is that we just want to have the choice on what we do with our bodies. The choice to abort isn't made when a child is in the third trimester when they're fully developed and are able to survive outside the womb; The choice is made when the fetus is still not much more than a cluster of cells that is incapable of life outside of the host (essentially, in other words, a parasite).
Abortion isn't an easy decision and no one makes it lightly. The choice to abort can cause traumatic emotional pain to the one making the choice but they made it because after much thought, they felt it was the lesser trauma when compared to carrying something they didn't want to term, having the stigma of having an "accidental child", and then giving the child up for adoption or keeping it in a very negative situation.
Things like this aren't so black and white like extremists are trying to make it. pro-choice people aren't saying everyone must abort every fetus and yet the other side is making the argument that everyone must carry every fetus to term and birth it. It's unfair that someone else can dictate what we do with our bodies and our clusters of cells.
The choice to have sex =/= the choice to have a child much like the choice to smoke cigarettes =/= the choice to have cancer and yet we fight to rid people of cancer as much as we can. Tumors, by the way, are also just clusters of cells that the host does not want in their bodies :)
I hope this clears some things up

Most of those points are incorrect.
You, me and everyone do not have control of your bodies, we have as much control as the state allows us to control our bodies and the democratic representatives of ours that are elected to uphold out will. If you don't believe me, then go outside of a police station and start doing and selling heroin and tell the offices that you "got a choice on what to do with your body." You know where this will lead, of course.
Also, adoption is an option, you can't and you are not punishing the criminal by killing your kid.
Also pro-life people are correct, the fetus is not "just a cluster of cells", if you don't believe me, then look up for the medical and linguistic definitions of life, and see if a fetus meets all the definitions of it, so yes, it is a person, and killing it is murder, unless it tries to kill you first, then it is self-defence.
And to give you one other example, the snow owl is an endangered species with less than 3000 eggs/birds of it around the world. So, if I, theoretically were to go and smash all of this species eggs, bar none, would have I brought or aided the species in its way of extinction, yes or no?
Try to mask your evil act in every word you wish, it is still unborn killing and it is heinous and that won't change.

Your first point is irrelevant. There was a specific point that the fetus is a "cluster of cells" and so I asked the counter-point; what would happen if I smashed all the existing eggs of an endangered species? There are only two answers to be found here:
A.Those eggs are a "random cluster of cells", so by smashing them, I am not putting the species into the danger of extinction.
or
B.Those eggs are indeed birds in the making and by me smashing them, I am putting the species into the danger of extinction.
There is only A. or B. here, only one that can be true.
Also you are misinformed, severely at that there have been cases of people's organs being harvested against their consent or will going back almost a decade or so.
Also I never said anything about me shoving a needle into anyone but myself, so I am asking my question once more and I expect an honest answer this time: Can I go down the police station, start doing and selling heroine since I have "control of my body", yes or no?
So yes, your strawmen were good, but they have little to no bearing to my arguments, they don't even touched them.

I wasn't going to answer because I always believe people are allowed to believe what they want.
However no, you can't go shoot up heroin, because heroin can, and many times does, kill YOU. The PERSON who is CURRENTLY ALIVE. It's not just a matter of controlling your body, it's a matter of this is a dangerous substance that will murder you if you continue to use it. So nope, sorry, no heroin for you. If you wanna get into that kind of thing, you'd actually be FOR abortion because sometimes people (not just women) get abortion because hey, the fetus is going to kill them if they continue with the pregnancy.
A fetus, a cluster of cells, is not a person to control. It's a cell. It doesn't have cognitive thought, it doesn't have a brain, it doesn't have the means to survive WITHOUT your body. Therefore yes, it is YOUR body, YOU get to choose whether or not you carry the fetus to baby, to term, to birth. Because at the point of abortion, the fetus is not a baby, it is what can be commonly known as a parasite, because it can not live without you.
You compare a fetus to the eggs of an endangered species, but that analogy is all wrong. Were not going extinct. Were not "killing off endangered babies". To compare human fetuses to endangered bird eggs is quite baffling, as one has nothing to do with the other. Were the human race. Were not a bunch of birds on the verge of extinction and death.
We eat chicken eggs before they're a "fetus". Why? Because they're not yet chickens, and they're not going extinct. Smash all the chicken eggs you want bro, no ones going to stop you.
As a transman, who can get pregnant, I would have to get an abortion if I did? Why? I have severe physical and mental disabilities. To give birth to a baby would be detrimental not only to MY health, but to the BABIES health. The baby would be born sick, would be born severely disabled, and would live an incredibly struggling, difficult life in a place (if I kept it) where it could not be properly cared for. And don't give me the "adoption" system choice, because the adoption system is FLOOODED with "unwanted babies" and there's more orphans in the world than there are people to give them happy homes. CHILDREN, actual children with brains, and emotions are dying because we don't have the resources to feed them, or love them, or care for them. I would much, much rather abort a cluster of cells than lead a baby into a life of suffering. But hey, I'm on birth control and am doing everything I can to NOT have babies. I'd love to get a hysterectomy but doctors think they can also control THAT and don't want me to have one because "WHAT IF YOU WANT BABIES ONE DAY" despite all the reasons above.
People don't control other peoples bodies. You can't force people with uterus's to give birth just because you deem it necessary. If you want happy healthy babies go adopt. Go do something to pick up the slack rather than force out babies that are just going to suffer because people won't care for them anyway.
ANYWAY. I hope this message finds you well. You're still free to believe in whatever you want, God gave us freedom for a reason! Hope you have a great night! And if you'd like some more information feel free to PM me! I'll probably not be coming back to this piece and I often miss when people leave me messages to glance at unless they're notes lol.

Yet you are answering anyhow, but whatever, I see you never touched the meat of my argument, so let's begin with yours.
If heroin does kill me it's irrelevant, 100% irrelevant, it is MY body, it is MY choice to use and/or abuse that drug and buy it or sell it to anyone who wishes to do the same to his body for whatever reason, if of course the argument that "I have control over my body" does pass the BS test, but yeah, since I don't have complete control over my body, then this argument is disingenuous, at best and it speaks volumes about the character of those that spew it. Also terminating a pregnancy CAN also have negative effects in a woman's health.
I have said it before and I will say it again, you guys have not read (and never will, of course), but do yourself a favour and check the medical definitions of life and see if a fetus really meets those definitions (protip: it does), do with your life and YOUR body whatever you do, but it is not YOUR body you are harming here, it is a body that presents no risk to you and killing it is murder, unless it tries to kill you first, then it is self-defence. Also, I would welcome your answer of what do you consider someone who is going during 4th degree of anesthesia to be?
A. A person
or
B. A "cluster of cells"
If we are going extinct or not is 100% irrelevant to my post, but nice to see everyone attacking this strawman of their chosing and not my argument, but hey, you guys do you.
So once more, my argument is this: The snow owls are an endangered species, if I go and smash all their eggs, sorry I meant all their "clusters of cells" have I brought the species to extinction? And why? I am not killing the birds I am just smashing some "clusters of cells". Whatever you do you won't escape the answer to my question.
Also animals we own don't have rights they have considerations, go slaughter a pig you own and see if the feds will charge you for murder.
Also you are biological a woman, whether you call yourself such or not, and you also claim to have physical and mental disabilities, that will risk your health in a pregnancy, which I don't dispute, but have you taken a gander on what I typed above? If the baby tries to kill you, it is self-defence, clear and simple. Anything else is belly-aching to get away from your responsibilities, but let me ask you, you see what Al. Milano and Rose McGowan and other 3/10s that think like them have proposed to deal with this new law? Abstinence!
Don't you find that remarkable? These same women claim abstinence is an unrealistic and completely unrealistic expectation that nobody can live up to. That's one their principle arguments for abortion.
But look, abstinence is the first thing they run to in order to defend baby-killing They have arrived at the utility of abstinence in the exactly backwards way. Abstinence FOR baby-killing, not to prevent baby-killing!
And yes, adoption does work, and if you think adoption centres are too crowded anyhow, well, some other people think the same as you, just in a bit of larger scale, I also heard those same guys elected a guy that promised to make them less crowded and will build a wall to do it so...oh! And make some other guys pay for it...
Also, nah, I only use my notes for commissions and RP, so hmu for each of the two.

Now, at this point in the conversation I realize you are, most likely, just trying to troll and be a general asinine creature.
However, I will hit on your points since apparently, no one else is, according to you.
Your owl analogy does not apply to the abortion argument. Cluster of cells or not, the owl does not suffer the same bodily changes a human does nor would they have any understanding of not wanting the baby. Owls are not on the same level mentally that we are as humans. They don't have the same complex emotions, thoughts, worries ect. So it's totally irrelevant to the conversation. Especially because we aren't endangered in anyway. as a species.
And yes, if you go to the station and start doing and selling heroin you'll be arrested. Heroin is a very dangerous drug. No one knows what you'll do while on it, you're selling it to people which spreading the danger to others, and just in general you become a danger to yourself and others. This does not happen if I decide to abort a fetus with absolutely no brain function that will wreak havoc my body. My abortion does not, in anyway affect YOUR safety. You doing heroin however, affects not only you but the people around you. Drugs of any kind can be dangerous to you or the people around you. Hard drugs in general just tend to be more so due to their adverse affects that can be very unpredictable from person to person.
Also, no one believes they are punishing their abuser when they get an abortion. They preserving they're own sanity and bodily health. The point is never to punish others no matter what was done. As well as adoption is NOT always an option. There are so many children in the system who are suffering. No child is guaranteed something better because you decide to put them up for adoption. Children in the system are more vulnerable to developing mental health issue as well. Depression, anxiety etc. As well as the people who use the system as a paycheck or an access point to young children. There are countless rape and molestation cases because those children are in the system.
Hell even excluding how many issues those children face in the system, there are just so many of them. The government has no hope of miraculously finding families for all of them. Meaning they are living even more dependently on the state, and lot of them are stuck that way for the full 18 years until they become an adult.
So no. Adoption is not fully an option.
And That's whats happens for fully healthy children. This doesn't reach those children who are born with disabilities. Who are even more at risk of being taken advantage of, being left with the state because people want "the perfect baby", ect ect. I'm not going to even get fully into the disabled kids in the system conversation here.
Now, let me place a situation down for you. I ask that, just for a moment you put yourself in the shoes of a woman. You have a vagina and a uterus to match. Okay. Got that in your head? okay.
NOW, ban abortion. Conservatives win. Blah blah blah.
Then you get pregnant.
Maybe it was consensual, maybe not.
For the sake of this situation let say it was.
You WANT this baby. Then you make a routine trip to your OBGYN to check up on the baby and see how they're developing. However, the doctor tells you that your baby has some sort of problem. Whether it be a tumor, they're not developing properly (missing organs, they're spine just isn't forming fully ect.), or just straight up, your baby just isnt viable. He isn't going to make it. The chances of him being stillborn are in the 90%'s. You can't end the babies suffering because abortion was banned. You can't end your suffering because abortion was banned. You are forced to carry that baby as long as possible, putting yourself in danger if it dies in the womb, because abortion is banned. Now imagine the pain, the suffering, and that your recovery could've been sped up if you were just allowed to abort a baby that wouldn't survive anyway.
NOW, another situation.
You get pregnant. You were having consensual sex. And it happens. Except you have a health problems that mean pregnancy can be seriously lethal for you. Meaning carrying this baby could potentially kill you before you even reach term. But you're stuck trying at your own risk because, guess what, abortion is illegal.
How about another one?
The sex was NOT consensual. You're a woman who's been raped. You feel ruined. And then you start to feel those symptoms. The ones that say there's something starting in here. And now, when you already feel like your body isn't your own, it really isn't yours. The state is forcing you, much like your rapist forced you. You have to carry that baby to term all the while battling what happened to you. Battling the mental health repercussions that this has brought on you. And the one option that could, maybe let you start to recover sooner and wont force you to go through even more bodily changes, is banned.
When you've been raped, your body doesn't feel like it's yours. It belongs to a stranger and you have to relearn it like a map to a country you've never been. To tack on a pregnancy, which changes your body irreparably, is far to much to force on one person. No matter what age, but especially those who are very young. Believe me. I've suffered.
Finally, if this whole thing has been a troll on your part. Something to just start arguing with people because you think it's amazing to hurt and fight with people. Please rethink yourself. Because you aren't cool.
And if you honestly believe that abortion should be banned please talk to those who actually needed it. Speak to people who actually suffered and needed that resource.
And I understand, I've spoken this whole time as if you are a man. And if you are, speak to women who needed the abortion as I said.
If you are a woman, please also do that. Get a perspective from other people no matter your gender.
Because some of us, needed that option available in order to survive.
Thanks.
However, I will hit on your points since apparently, no one else is, according to you.

If you are a woman, please also do that. Get a perspective from other people no matter your gender.
Because some of us, needed that option available in order to survive.
Thanks.
You claim you will adress my points but you don't do so, an honest interlocutor is too much to ask I guess, from the same people that are ok with murdering babies it is to be expected, of course.
The owl's feelings, bodily changes, extinction level or not is 100% irrelevant in the situation I solely asked if the snow owl eggs are "cluster of cells" or not and:
A.If those eggs are a "random cluster of cells", so by smashing them, I am not putting the species into the danger of extinction.
or
B.If those eggs are indeed birds in the making and by me smashing them, I am putting the species into the danger of extinction.
Simple, direct question that has yet to receive a direct answer, much to your professions of otherwise, so I would like to have a clear and direct answer to that, instead of deflections, thank you very much.
So if I am sleeping in my house and the cops raid it and find me in possession of heroin I would be on the clear? Since I don't threaten anyone, except maybe myself and not even that? Is that what you say, but also you know what else is causing more harm to yourself and others, more than heroine, more than any drug in the world combined and multiplied by 2? Automobiles! Cars and such are the cause of more death and harm in every year in the world than any other drug so, if your argument is to "prevent you and others of becoming a threat and danger to society" then I can't wait to see the vehicle ban in the world, any day now.....
So we kill others for our mental and physical health now? That's evil piled up on more evil, and yes, I don't sugar-coat it, no matter how much sugar you throw on fecal matter it will never become chocolate.
Also I see your comment on abortion and how crowded the centres are, and well, that is very nice you care for how crowded parts of your country, writ large are and some people are voting and actively trying to stop it, i heard they elected a guy that promised to them he will make this country less crowded, and not only that, others will pay to make this country less crowded, and lo and behold, this will make the adoption centres less crowded, so are you behind that initiative and decisions of this intuitive man and his political affiliation?
Now, let's say I have became a woman, first thing I would do was to shave my unmentionables.....and back.
Before answering your question, let me ask, do those evil motherfucked mofos that performed and signed this heinous thing into law get the chair? Just to be sure how much in fanfiction area we are here.
So to answer your first question, would have it, yes, if I there was 1% of possibility it would get in this life then yes, I would do it. After all, I decided to do it, and no one promised me that the situation or the process was painless or even 100% successful, you know what you are getting on.
Second situation is the only situation the baby-killing is justified, because, after all, like I said, it is murder unless it tries to kill you first, then it's self-defence. You know for someone who claims that she will answer my posts you sure did not read them, at all.
Third situation, first things first I would make sure, I would do my darnest that a rape situation would never happen to me: I would conceal-carry, I would get my father to learn my how to shot, I would vote and try to keep foreigners, especially those from the third world away, from my country, I would try to hang up with the right kind of crowd, I would pick up a better man. But let's say that after all that, it happened and now I am to give birth to the child of my rapist.
Yes it would be tragic for me to have to bear the child of my rapist. But killing babies is not the only solution as you erroneously proclaim. There are others and they are called "society" and "family" and the bonds you can have with those groups, the latter more than the former. They can sympathize, they can punish the wrongdoer, they can force restitution, they can give substantial aid to the victim. But its still not a valid reason to terminate the who is also MY child's life. And no woman is not required to raise the child once its born unless she so chooses. Even under some bullshit utilitarian analysis 9 months of unwanted pregnancy + childbirth does not outweigh the life of an innocent. And this doesn't even touch on the societal and cultural harms resulting from legalized callousness for life.
Also, allow me to ask in return: Are you what Americans call 'millenials'? Because your post I see a lot of grabbing of straws, even going as far as to think that the less than 5% of all pregnancies are the norm, massive appeals to emotion, but only your emotions and only what makes you feel happy or unhappy, utter disdain of others emotion like it is the only thing you can think with, and also an utter disdain for a thing that is called personal responsibility. As a matter of fact, your entire argument is devoid of it, like I should treat most of the agents in the pregnancy situation as devoid of agency. In most cases than not, it was and still is your fault for doing something you regret it and well no innocent has to be killed because you made bad choices in your life and still making.
Also check my FA page and see that is correct I am a man.
Before you ask me to speak to anyone speak to everyone that was born if he would like to be born.
Be well and sorry that some people are aversed to evil, it happens.

Currently the legal system has fully supported that it is a woman's right to chose for longer than I have been alive. Adoption is certainly an option, granted when it was the only alternative to illegal abortion the adoption system itself had massive issues (and still does tbh). That is without even considering how many women did choose to have the illegal abortions or would choose suicide etc instead. As I doubt you know much of how things actually were during that time (particularly given your ludicrous comparison to endangered species and murder/self-defense laws that have nothing to do with this discussion at all). The exact point is that currently you and those who believe like you have the ability to have a choice, that you are not satisfied with your morality and beliefs not being forced upon others shows the issue is about power and not true moral concerns. Instead of trying so hard to impede abortions, if the pro-life movement had put half as much effort into improving the process and system for adoptions and finding ways to aid women who are pregnant or victims of sexual assualt they could have made real advancements for our social good. Instead, the laws often intentionally constrict the terms of such things and are aimed to further erode or damage the social supports women who do want to give birth need. The entire movement isn't about caring for children, its only about power under the guise of morality.
Forcing a victim of sexual assualt to endure pregnancy is punishing the victim. Saying that they must endure an extended and life altering event because they were a victim, simply because it doesn't punish the criminal shows you have no real grasp on the point of either the legal system or aiding victims (and possibly women in general tbh). Perhaps it escapes you, but it was never about hurting the criminal and all about stopping the damage he has inflicted upon his victim.
Regarding GA, much of what is being discussed isn't even a fetus. There is no scientific definition of life (we have struggled with categorizing things like viruses for this exact reason). Nor would being considered life confer the status of personhood to something. Its rather apparent that you lack a true understanding of both the science and legality involved at all, and I suspect the same is true of the ethics and morality too (to be clear, your personal beliefs are irrelevant when it comes to determining such things since there is no real difference in mandating that everyone be a specific religion and creating laws that force them to follow a specific relgion's beliefs while stopping short of mandating people be that religion). By ignoring the idea of choice on the part of a woman in this matter we are saying that as a society we not only are ignoring their voice on the matter but elevating the "voice" of a potentially born child (since there are countless possible things that could prevent it from ever actually being born) above the well being of actual members of our society. Personally, I find the idea that anyone in the US would do such a thing appalling, but to add to it a blatantly absurd attempt to elevate the voice of the unborn for voting/legislative infuence shows how this has nothing to do with democracy and is all about an effort to force the views of the few on the majority.
Your self rightousness speaks volumes about you and the willfull ignorance you use in place of actually having empathy or putting forth the effort to understand. Feel free to reply with whatever distorted and poorly reasoned word bile you choose, as I have no intention of commenting further. I've had all I care to read of your inane and ill informed zealotry.

I agree, this is absolutely some disgusting sexist bullshit. I'm really tired of this countries views on sex, gender and trying to control not only women's bodies but those of transgender individuals as well. We claim to be a progressive country but fuck if it doesn't feel like we are reverting to some old testament levels of bullshit.
I kept re-reading the articles about this because I thought there was absolutely no way what I was reading was correct. It's horrifying and disgusting and sexist beyond all reason. It violates the basest rights provided in the Constitution.
If it goes through, we're going to have some major problems here in the U.S.

Thanks for posting this. Yea, it really pisses me off too. I am also concerned for my own state. It's bad enough the local hospital decided to close the obgyn and child care divisions. Welcome to red states--where they pretend they care about women and children, but really don't
As someone with a uterus and someone who doesn't want kids of my own, this is terrifying. I know people who have trouble keeping pregnancies for health reasons. I'm pro choice because people need to do what they need to do. It's not my place to tell someone what they can and can't do with their body, even if I don't agree with it.
Is there any way to get my voice out to Congress even if I'm in another state? I'm not too into politics so not really sure.
I'm really hoping they change their laws soon because some people may take their OWN life because they have no other control. (Ex rape victims being forced to carry out the pregnancy. That's gotta be rough...)

Agreed; the claim that they care for ALL life, including the unborn fetus and the mother, I just don't see. If I were to have sex consentually or non-consentually and I got pregnant , then forced to carry the fetus to term and birth it, 10/10 I would opt to kill myself first as the trauma of the entire situation would absolutely be far too great for me to handle, not to mention the sheer violation of body I would feel for the rest of my life having been 'forced' to birth something I didn't want as well as the guilt of having to give them up for adoption, having them grow up knowing their biological parent did not want them.
Exactly... some women can't carry for health reasons too and they can't take proper care of their own health because the hardly developed fetus is "more important" than the one who has grown up and has an established life. So now they have to risk their own life for something.
This stuff sickens me :(

While you are welcome to try contacting representatives of those state legistatures, as a non-constiuent it likely won't mean anything to them at all. One the other hand there is still a lot you can do to help those who will be fighting these reprehensible bills/laws and even to help push for an end to this inane excercise in fighting over rights people have been legally recognized as having since before I was born.
There are plenty of organization that will be taking these fights to the courts and they could always use whatever support we can give them (even just donating a couple bucks is something they welcome, but spreading the word, and many other things are just as welcome). The most notable that come to mind for me are the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) and Planned Parenthood (depending on the issue it may be best to reach out to the actual divisions in the impacted states and see what you could do to help them, but its always good to support a social organization that seeks to aid women and children through a difficult time that too often is ignored...particularly in the same states that generally seek to oppose women's rights in general and reproductive rights in particular). I also highly recommend verifying information you get on social media atc to prevent damaging things from spreading (for example, many people were already contacting places to see if abortions had already been made illegal etc and the misinformation about women's criminal liability could have serious consequences if it makes someone too scared to reach out etc). Here are some links to their general sites to start anyone interested in finding out what they can do to help those organizations.
https://www.aclu.org/ (likely will have a pop-up asking for donations when pulled up due to this pressing issue, it did for me =)
https://www.plannedparenthood.org/ (has a banner asking for donations due to this issue)
I am sure there are many other organization that will be involved too (some on a more local state level etc), I just don't want to risk endorsing anything that I am not absolutely certain isn't a possible scam etc.
Additionally, I would highly recommend that you reach out to the representatives in Congress for your own state and express to them the importance of this issue to you. These ridiculous and harmful bills could be stopped entirely if Congress can pass a law protecting women's reproductive rights explicitly instead of having to rely on a legal precedent as sole defense. Ideally, it is even possible to add an amendment to the Constitution itself providing such explicit protections (and perhaps going the further step of explicitly protecting women, LGBT, etc from discrimination too while we are at it). The website below can be used to find your Representative/Senator and will have contact info for them too (you can enter your address if to get the exact info easily, or that state if you have privacy concerns though you may need to determine your specific Representative after through the second site I linked =).

A bit of an update on amendments.
1. Abortions are legal in first trimester
2. People who have abortions performed on them aren't prosecutable.
3. Operations done in relation to Rape/incest are legal provided the person reports it even just allegedly.
4. Miscarriage is non-punishable when natural or accidental.
These were some of the amendments in Senate.

Trimester thing doesn't apply to the Alabama law (that law literally takes effect the moment the woman is known to be pregnant), nor does the exception for Rape/Incest (they actively chose to have no exclusions for those issues, just like the one that passed the Missouri senate today).
As someone with a clitoris (uterus is a buzzword and buzzwords are to be avoided) as well as someone with family in Georgia, I have this to say:
#GoDawgs
I'm more worried about Ohio, since I live in Michigan. However, as a resident of Michigan and a fan of the University of Michigan, I'm not surprised by the level of stupidity being shown in Ohio.
However, I am also heavily pro-life.

Good lord this shit is ridiculous. I unfortunately may not have a uterus but I'm still a woman and if you want to take control over what we're allowed to do with our bodies then you better be ready for a goddamn storm. I feel like more and more people are finally having enough of this bullshit, and I hope people start to speak up because we need all the help we can get. The people in charge of this country are disgusting and we can't keep letting them get away with this shit.
It's a 6 week ban for now, also let's not forget that with the constant push of "free abortions" this is the backlash to be expected. Lest we forget that there are those women out there who do nothing but ride dick after dick and take abortion for granted, especially to be paid for by the taxpayer masses.
Also "Anti-UterusHavingPeople" what the fuck is this supposed to be? Why is it hard to say anti-women or misoginistic? Since you know, only women have a uterus, that's biology for ya. # Transwomen aren't real women.

Humans are a complicated species. I don't think people who are pro-life are evil. I don't even think the majority are "anti-women" on purpose. They just can't see past their compassion for life. Which in most cases is admirable.
But as a being on this earth capable of getting pregnant and living in the US, I'm TERRIFIED of these laws being passed in this way. I have a really low pain tolerance, and I've always had a lot of pain and issues with periods. Getting pregnant would be a NIGHTMARE for me. (I obviously use protection, i'm not saying i should just have unprotected sex and use abortion as a BC option, no, that's dumb)
A clump of cells isn't worth months (to years) of pain, the high possibility of complication and even death due to medical issues, and the list goes on. It's just not worth it for that. I can't afford 10's of thousands of dollars in medical bills to keep what may kill me and most def. will cause me mountains of pain, leaving my body damaged for the rest of my life, if it doesn't kill me. I get where pro-life is coming from, and it's from a good place. But they fail to realize that potential human life =\= human life. I'm not one to ever protest irl, but if i could, i would be standing out there protesting with all i have.
Side note. Bringing religion into laws is unconstitutional. So I won't even consider religious arguments on the legality issue. Moral issue I can sympathize with and understand though.

Oh wonderful. Just more reasons for me to hate Ohio more.
I live in Ohio and have disliked living here the majority of
my life. Now with the possibility of outlawing birth control
and all these other ridiculous laws and such I now desire
to move out of here before everything begins to blow up.

I live in ga and its sick. They even go as far as punishing those who miscarriage! imagine going to the doctor worried you coulve miscarried after anight of drinking and not knowing you were pregnant until then and being slapped with second degree manslaughter. The anti-abortion shit is bad enough but punishing women who miscarry- even more of a spit in the face. women's healthcare is already a joke in my state bc everyone is too uncomfortable to talk about women's health.
THIS ^^^
I had a friend who was in a bad relationship, but at the time it seemed right for her. She was on birth control but still got pregnant. After a night of drinking, she miscarried and again, she had no idea she was pregnant. It happens!
Now she is married to a wonderful man, has a beautiful house with an adorable dog and is currently expecting. I am so happy that she was able to start a future for herself on her own terms, under different circumstances.
Women shouldn't be punished for the choice over their own body. And to think that a woman could be punished for choices she didn't even make, such as miscarriage is truly sickening

<3 I hope this shit gets fixed soon. Womens rights / human rights are bear minimum in some of these red states as it is and with these new laws, they're heading into the "non existent" territory.
Also, your reply to kangaroo man was phenomenal :))))) They're too far into their own ideals for me to continue any semplance of a conversation without losing my head but Im glad you gave it a shot. It was super well put <3

agreed. Pro-choice people aren't saying EVERYONE has to abort their babies??? What other women want to do is up to them. We're only asking for the freedom to make our own choices about our own bodies. You don't like abortion? Don't have one lmao but what I do with my body won't affect anyone else except maybe my S/O (in which case a conversation should take place)
but yeah, I agree with you. My body, my choice. Your body, your choice.
but yeah, I agree with you. My body, my choice. Your body, your choice.
*Sigh* I usually don't talk politics randomly online, but yeah. I really couldn't agree more. We've gone from the path forward to a multi-century regression in the span of one presidential term. And what's worse is that the cancer seems to be spreading. My own home state of Missouri recently passed a similar bill.
You'd think one would get used to the bigotry and hypocrisy of the Republican party, but they keep managing to find new lows. Anything for a shred of political power, right? We've got people from the 50s deciding how people in the 2050s should live. We're supposedly a country of free religion, but for all the talk of fearing Sharia Law and all that, this sure looks like the Christian version of it.
I've lived in the states for all my life, and I had desperately hoped we were better than this. 2016 was an eye-opener to see just how terrible we still are. Really, all I can say is sorry to all the women who have to deal with this crap first-hand.
My mom and I talk politics often. She's livid about this decision here at home too. She showed me the craziest dichotomy over dinner. Doctor's can't take an organ from a dead person without that person's written permission (Organ Donor status), even if it would save a life. This means that women have more control over their own bodies when they're corpses. That disgusts me.
The worst part about all this, is that these bills don't have provisions for enforcement, which means they're part of a larger scheme to provoke a court challenge, which would work its way up to Supreme Court and overturn the long-standing and important Roe v Wade decision. They're passing these absolutely insane laws in order to stick it to everyone by circumventing the States Rights they so dearly defend... when it's not in their favor.
Another incredibly thoughtless take on this is that they don't stop for one second to think about the welfare of the children after they force the mother to give birth. Health defects, the economic strain on the mother, the possibility of being put up for adoption through the orphanage system, violence (specifically guns and the notorious school shooting problem), there's no end to the problems that could be circumvented by allowing someone to abort.
Sorry for the Great Wall of Text, but I care a lot about the state of my country, and it felt good to get things off my chest. That's my two cents on it all, anyway.
Also, your art is nice. Dropped you a follow.
You'd think one would get used to the bigotry and hypocrisy of the Republican party, but they keep managing to find new lows. Anything for a shred of political power, right? yeah I also usually don't talk about politics online but holy shit has the recent events down there really got me up in arms. You stated everything perfectly and I couldn't agree more.
Every now and then I'll have an attempt at an adult debate on twitter (already made a fatal error, I know) and what I've learned is that really, it's absolutely true that they don't care once the baby is born what happens to it. I've had people straight out say 'it's not my job to help raise the kid" or "it's not the government's job to make sure it is raised right" or similar things, and while I suppose that's true, it's also none of their business what a woman does with her body. The amount of times an abortion will affect them is a big zero.
I get the feeling that most pro-life people have this image in their head that women are aborting fully formed fetuses that are viable outside the womb when really, by the time they're fully formed, the woman *wants* that child. Abortions are usually done in the first trimester, when they're still just an embryo, blastocyst or when the fetus has very little image relation to a human. At the time (most) abortions are performed, the woman doesn't even look pregnant and it's merely flushing out unwated cells from her uterus.
I know I'm preaching to the choir but GAH. it's so crazy and I'm going absolutely batty up here as someone who owns a uterus. It's a massive loss to our human rights and I'm really hoping Roe v. Wade doesn't get overturned :/ although I won't really be surprised if it is???

Congress has failed to prevent using their checks and balances, and the judicial system has been overrun by partisanship on the part of the Republican Reds. They've packed the courts, so things are looking bleak for human rights nowadays unless you're a straight, white, man. Well, it's America. Wouldn't be America if we made smart, informed decisions and made rational choices based on facts.
I'm not really one for talking about politics, especially since it can be a VERY sensitive subject for some people. However, I do have to agree that the abortion laws that these states are trying to pass are absolutely ridiculous. A 6-8 week limit and an outright ban is just too short for the mother to make a decision and to discuss the situation with their partner if they have one. I personally do think that there should be some limit on when the woman is able to get an abortion (I would say anywhere between the 24-28th week when the fetus becomes viable and able to survive on its own), but not so small of a limit that they don't have time to think things through and discuss with others with exceptions at that point in the event of some medical emergency or severe problems that could result in the death of the mother, in which case an emergency c-section should be performed to try and save both mother and child if the child is viable. If the child is not viable than an emergency abortion to save the life of the mother should take precidence in my opinion.
The idea of making miscarriages illegal is just plain stupid. Miscarriages can't really be controlled. A lot of the time they just happen out of the blue. Absolutely ridiculous in my opinion Same goes for not having exceptions for rape victims, who may not even fully realize they're pregnant until after the 6 week period has already passed, or find out too close to that 6 week period deadline.
I am the type of person that does believe though that if a woman gets pregnant from her boyfriend, fiance, husband, etc. then they should both sit down and discuss it together like adults and try to come up with a decision on what they want to do with this child together, whether it be abort, give it up for adoption, have the kid, etc. Especially in cases where one party (be it the woman or the man) wants to have the kid but the other isn't really sure. Although the woman does have the eventual final say, I still think civil discussion between partners is critical to making a decision.
