I guess it does make sense but then again many people believe in the afterlife and so it would also make sense for there to be a courier to the next life. It sorta comes down to how you view death and the time afterwards

Hehe. But death itself wouldn't be the courier, it would be an actual being such as the ferryman Charon who boated souls across the river styx. Charon was not death itself, he was just the passage into the underworld.

Touche good sir, however how does one reach Charon from the place that they die? There must be another courier and if it is not death then what real role does death play? He would turn up at the body and then he would do nothing so surely i believe that he must take the bodies elsewhere

Death, as in this little story, is the ending. Even given an afterlife, death is the exact moment of passing, the momento mori. Souls in the greek mythology, going back to that, I think ended up walking their asses into one of the many portals to the underworld under their own steam, so to speak, before meeting Charon. Death is not just an end to life, it is an end to all things. Life, heat, motion, energy, matter, and time itself.

Ah i see your point, death is not a person or a place but it is a moment in time and it is an end but it has no form or shape to credit it with so it is generally met with the image of a reaper rather than nothingness

Well not poetry in the general form but still a release of emotions and views written in what i thought was a generally poetic style, albeit a short extract of a possibly longer text.

It probably is and i can see that it is but it has a sort of poetic and it's almost like the sort of poetry that gets done at coffee clubs where there is no real ryhme or limit to sentance length but its just an expression of who someone is or how they feel.
