“I volunteered for the Army on my birthday
They draft the white trash first 'round here anyway”
~Steve Earle
TNT, always one of my favorite characters. I can still remember the night he was conceived. At first, he was just a random character, but he grew, and then he…well, exploded.
He was born to a chemist (his mother) and a scrap yard owner (his father). They went off to fight in the war and were (to the best of my imagination) killed. Though there’s a good chance that one of them could be a P.O.W.
Though, there was always a rumor during the war that TNT is not a ‘real’ martian mouse. His mother was part of a team of scientists participating in genetic experiments on cloning. His mother was then assigned to raise and study this…experiment. However, there is no proof of any of this.
TNT and his best friend Nitro went and enlisted in the army—and how they made it with their colored hair I will never comprehend. They both put their knowledge of explosives to good use in each of their platoons. TNT was placed into Nightfall’s platoon—Nightfall being the father of my alter-ego, Sunshine.
After the war, TNT became best friends with Nightfall’s eldest child, Blitzkrieg, as well as Sunshine herself. TNT stayed with the Carmine family for a few years before going out on his own to help rebuild the planet.
This guy is never one to live in a fancy home with fancy furniture and expensive China plates. I always pictured him living in a crashed spaceship that he converted into an ‘apartment.’ Complete with an army cot and small refrigerator…and a small storage unit filled with dynamite :D
The story behind this drawing *points up* is that it’s TNT about six months after the war. His army haircut is growing out, and he wears his new yellow armband to remember all that was lost in the war. Also, he has no earring in either of his ears—and apparently, no shirt, either…lol.
There’s no shading on this picture, and the background is going to remain unfinished because I haven’t the time to finish it. I can’t believe the hours it took me just to get the picture to this point!
Damn, I must be feeling long-winded today!
Oh, and as far as the mistakes go in this picture, you don’t need to point them out—I already know where they are.
Also, I’m sure there are people out there saying: “Wow. He’s not very muscular.” You’re right, he’s not. He never was, nor will be. He’s just tall and lanky. So, for all of you who like your men looking like they take steroids, I apologize ;)
