I had to cut out a lot, dude. I yanked Buck's line, AND
gildedtongue's line as Nathan Spinner, AND an additional line from John Stoat answering T. Matt's question about the lack of American-born ballers on the Rapids.
And I trimmed up
rncoyote's line and your line as Gary Ridge and... ugh...
I cut out a lot on this one. First cut was 16 minutes long.
But I left in the ending.

Bryn Mastiffson, now better known as the leader of the Rabble Rousers, had a blink-and-you-miss-it FBA career.
He was the starting small forward in 1980 when the Rocky Mountain House Royals debuted in the FBA, but a leg injury ended his career (I originally had his career lasting only 1/4 of a game, but I upped it to 2 1/2 games instead. Still probably the shortest career in FBA history).
STILL... There were jerseys with his name made and sold (his number was also 7).

Oh, and Bryn Mastiffson first learned to enjoy basketball when he saw three games back-to-back on television (when he was 7 years old):
Tuscon Demons vs. Biloxi Mudpuppies.
St. Paul Mayors vs. Plymouth Taproots.
Santa Cruz Clefs vs. Baltimore Spirits.
The date? November 17, 1961...

The TUS@BLX almost got called because of rain. One of the first things that the Mudpuppies did when the FBA was formed was get a new tarp for Crawdad Park. It looked like rain, so they rolled it out. The tarp was guaranteed water-proof. It wasn't, and the manufacturer got an earful. Luckily, it was only a short cloudburst, and the game was underway about 20 minutes late.
*sends you a jersey signed by the entire Firestorm team. Mayors? *bah!* Skates is spending the holidays playing and in church. Good Lord, does this goofball do anything bad? Oh yeah. He's been seen with two porn stars at night clubs on his days off. Bill Bent is laughing his ass off.*
John Stoat has to be my favourite player, just cuz of his character! He's an excellent player, but still who does not love a pom with a foul mouth with a full-on pommy accent?
And T Matt obviously loves his jersey, that is EXACTLY how i acted when I got my first ferrari shirt. I treated the thing like gold, buried my face in it regularly and was extra careful not to get it dirty...
