So I figured I should start to share some lovely art I have gotten for some of my D&D characters.
First in the image is Garg the Artificer Gnoll.
A quick bio on him is he was always fascinated with tinkering and making things which made him seem a bit odd to other gnolls in his tribe. Not to mention he was born with a blueish grey colored fur. Because of this he was always considered a freak and eventually kicked out of his tribe. He took what little he had and ventured into the deserts and plains around his lands.
He was found practically dead by an Orc captain of a band of mercenary soldiers who formed a somewhat coalition army that helped protect others. He rose in ranks and due to his hording nature became a quartermaster while also tinkering with his "Thunder Cannon". During an attack by a cult like group called the Purple Serpents Garg tried to repel the them by using his cannon when it exploded wounding himself and his Captain who had become a close friend. A purple serpent commander made killing blow on the orc before fleeing with the rest of his army leaving Garg to feel like he killed one of the only people who cared about him. He now carries the orcs ashes to eventually find the place that he wished to be put to rest while perfecting his tinkering abilities.
He loves to horde things and stuff them into his bag of holding while tinkering with random items. He acts sometimes just like a puppy liking to jump in puddles along the road.
The next character was my first 5E character Rhask the Kobold Paladin.
His story is quite complicated. He was not always a kobold. He was once a human sorcerer. He was searching for secrets of the dragon god Ao when a fight a large war over the land he was exploring erupted. He tried to fight the best he could but was struck down. But instead of perishing the dragon gods Bahumat and Tiamat took an interst in his soul since his line was descended from a rare dragon. They fought over the soul but came to agreement. He would return to life but as a mere kobold. He would have no memories of his former life or powers. He would live as a kobold and his true nature would come through and which way his alignment went the winning side would claim his soul. This would not stop Tiamat from tormenting his dreams at night.
Once he was resurrected with no memories he was terrified until a blue scaled dragonborn approached him. Taking pity on the creature the dragonborn took him and taught him how to be paladin. The dragonborn came to be like a brother to him before he set off on a journey of his own to find himself. He took up a sword and shield and became a paladin. His holy symbol the only thing on him when he woke up. An amulet with a silver dragon head on one side while the other was a 5 colored scales.
Rhask did everything in his power to not harm any dragonkin in his travels. He believed that every dragon should not be held to what they were told to be instead could be whatever they wished. This thought saved countless kobold life who joined him and eventually wound up in a guild that him and his allies created. (Now almost 300 kobolds running around) . This view came into a dangerous cross with his allies when they slayed an adult white dragon and he tried to revive it but was stopped.
So that's just quick little bit about my first two D&D characters for 5E. I really hope to continue playing these guys eventually!
