Blacktail's Third trip to the Boonies! (Part 32)
My whole field trip posse, all in one photograph!
I'm not sure which of them is Mark (see an earlier photo in this series), but I'm pretty sure the guy ballcap on the left (standing behind the guy with the grey shirt and shorts) is Jeremiah (our wheelman), while the guy with the blue and white ballcap is Shane (who occasionally drove the car in place of Jeremiah).
The old geezer in the yellow shirt --- who looks as though he's pointing at me and yelling, "He has a camera; GET HIM!" --- is our professor.
He's a stereotypical Geologist, arm-waving and lecturing in the field (which is what he's actually doing). Here, you see him explaining that Owens "Valley" is actually a Graben.
The dark figure in the hoodie and ballcap on the extreme left is our resident "Chrysler-Driver-with-a-death-wish". You'll see his ride soon enough.

well if you are interested in Geology, Hydrology or more importantly the history and future of California as it has been and will be affected by water and the lack of it you should read Cadillac Desert. It will not only entertain and educate you, it will scare the crap out of you too!
