This is my honest-to-god reaction to the designs. Please, don't take it out on me.
I'm serious when I said I thought the 2019 movie design wasn't bad at all (and I don't expect anything to be perfect). And, I think this, to my own extent, is a fair comparison. There will be people out there to tell me that 2013 is way better. I honestly disagree, because that made me cringe so hard, especially since the movements were so bad, and that I have to hear Jaleel White voicing him again. I'm not the biggest fan of his voice acting, despite having to like Sonic SatAM and Underground (and him voicing Sonia was just the worse idea since me voicing female characters in my own movies). He's not a bad guy, and I like him (especially as Steve Urkel). The 2013 fan film never really impressed me, considering that it was the only thing close to a live-action adaptation of Sonic we could have.
But, then 2019 comes along, and this "controversial" design for Sonic comes alongside. I like this design more and more when I watch the trailer, aside from a few shots I think they could fix up during post-production before release. Guys, I really would love to favor your artwork, if I could stop hearing how much ya' hate this. Seriously, I've found some pretty pitiful comments at this point. And, since I was making this comparison meme, I wanted to use my favorite shot of Sonic in the car with Tom, James Marsden's character.
I'm not delusional, or crazy, it's just what I personally think. If you think 2013's design looks better, that's okay. If you think 2019's better (despite it being changed again by demanding whiners), that's okay too. I don't care what anyone says at this point, but I like 2019's design much better than the unpleasant 2013 fan film design.
Also, I had fun making the expressions of myself as a mobian, and I plan on doing more if I have to. I needed to get this off my chest, because holding this in is just dumb. About as dumb as the chaos going on over the 2019 film. I just wish everybody was civil about it, instead of Paramount listening to the toxic side.

The 2019 version of Sonic is more fluffier than the 2013 version of him, and I still got that fan-made movie on my laptop, and yeah maybe I will keep it, but to be very honest with you, the way that his body looks in the 2013 movie just looks weird. But yeah, people want a fix on the 2019 design, and for me, I say "no problem" because in reality, if you or I complain to Jeff Fowler, "Listen, we want him the way he looks right now!" He won't listen because that's just 2 complaints over what, thousands upon thousands of Sonic fans? So yeah, I am going to let them have their way, and quite honestly, I think it's going to turn out better than what we have right now as a Sonic design.

As much as that is understandable, I'm still disappointed that theven creative freedom they had is now thrown out the window. I'm a guy who likes a new fresh take, not something that we have seen before, and done in a way that doesn't impress me, which was that fan film. I can take seeing some things that are similar to older material, but with Sonic, he needs to evolve more, and I like alternate/different takes with Sonic. The fans who complained wanted something that is like the 2013 version, but a much better one, which I have a feeling that it's gonna pull a Detective Pikachu.
Well, Detective Pikachu looks cute. 4 days away now. Anyway, yeah, I was able to try to accept the fact that they made Sonic what he is in the first trailer, and I was willing to force myself to get used to the 'evolved' Sonic, but the fans had to speak up. I mean, yeah, you and I are hardcore fans, but I was willing to let things go as is with Sonic's design. It just seems pathetic that other people had to complain to the Director of the movie, Jeff Fowler. There's nothing that we can do... what's done is done... they will change Movie Sonic's design and we'll just have to see how he looks in the next trailer since the trailer that April 30th had made everyone go up in arms.
Okay, I love Sonic, but I'm not that hardcore with it (which means I don't like everything that is Sonic, just what's modern in my time or something that appeals to me). So, I want to see some evolution in Sonic, instead of what Mania has done (reproduce the same thing that I don't want).
Anywho, I'm excited Detective Pikachu. I'm just question if people are gonna still keep doing comparisons, unfair or not, towards both films after Sonic's new changes were made. Good good, because my hopes are still high for the design that they have, before the other fans complained. I am the only hardcore Sonic fan I guess, but the thing that I will NOT do is masturbate in the theater while I see images of Sonic since I would get arrested, lol. I still want that evolution to happen and I just think the other Sonic fans are sort of whiny.
