I wanted to make a mermaid that was more fishlike with this one, but then I forgot my intentions partway through so they're swimming like a mammal despite their fish body. It was only when showing this to some friends that I looked at it and went "oh no, that's not how fish spines work at all!" Oh well! I really like my dramatic shading on this one, so I'm okay with how it turned out anyway.
