A nice, short story with an open ending.
I personally think it would be interesting, when he gets into the gym and can somehow convince the gymleader he is actually a human and she agrees to let him stay and helps him adjusting to his new body. A few weeks later, he befriends a trainer who came to the gym for a badge and decides to join him on his journey. They have many adventures and even get the chance to battle in the League.
... or something like that.
