"Now, now, none of that. Now I know you're all very excited, I am too. But we've had a very long drive, we have a big night planned and we'll all need to be well rested and well prepared for this. I'll make us a nice big dinner, and then I'd like all of us to get some rest for tonight's 'big heist', alright? Good. Oh, and make sure you all wash your hands beforehand. It'd be very embarrassing to come down with a stomach bug right before the big job, wouldn't it?"

Despite growing up in high society and a luxurious lifestyle, Sofia was fortunately raised by two very religious parents who abhorred the idea of wealth being used to fuel corruption and greed. Amid the high-class aristocrats of her family's inner circles and her family of party animals, she carries the air of quiet dignity, elegance, and grace of a Queen with her just about everywhere she goes. She's rarely imposing, never loud, always bears proper manners and respect towards others, and always does her best to extend the kindness, respect, love, and forgiveness towards other that her upbringing, strong Christian faith, and natural compassionate instincts encourage her to. However, despite her pedigree, she's far from a stern stick-in-the-mud. Quite the contrary, her natural contentment with life and her optimistic, playful personality breeds a seemingly eternal sunny disposition, which she works hard to spread to those around her.

A natural maternal and mentor figure towards those younger or less experienced than her, it doesn't take a lot for Sofia to form strong attachments to others and treat them with the same care and love that she would her own family. For better or worse, she's everyone's resident Bat Mom who exudes warmth and tenderness in just about everything she does, speaking softly but firmly, taking care with her touches, happily making anything one could need (from food to clothing to medicine), and always seeming to know just the right things to say. She does her best not to be pushy or forceful with her faith but does tend to rely on it to give her best advice or provide prayer to those who need it. And to her credit, she's found it to be very effective in the past.

None of this is to say she's completely immune to her life of privilege and luxury. Wise, educated and well-behaved as she may be, she's known to eavesdrop, gossip, and poke her nose around where it may not belong, whether in an effort to help or due to her severe disdain for lacking knowledge; though well-intentioned, it can often be slightly intrusive. Used to being able to get away with just about anything and getting just about anything she needed or wanted, and convinced that she generally (aka always) knows what's best for others, she can tend to be rather pushy, bossy and far too protective where she shouldn't be. Plus, she's often just a little too proud to admit when she's wrong, especially in regards to her adult friends. It all comes from a place of care and want to help, but the wrong person could take her behavior as condescension or lack of respect. She does her best not to be selfish or a prude, but she's been known to be somewhat high maintenance, and while she may never voice her displeasure with dirt or grime, it's usually very obvious in her demeanor and best efforts to avoid getting her fur or hair dirty.

A flawed woman though she may be, she always does her best not to make the lives of others difficult if she can help it. She's always willing to listen and learn, as hard of a pill to swallow that being wrong may be, and does her best to be accommodating, helpful and respectful where she's able. She does her best to be lead by example and be the change in the world that she wishes to see in others, spreading kindness, love, good fortune and smiles wherever she goes.

Fighting style (Optional): Sofia is not formally trained in combat, nor is she even informally trained. She does her best to avoid conflict when she can and tends to fight defensively or evasively if she does run into trouble. She tends to rely on Murray or Sly for protection during bigger brawls.

"Letting a journalist in on the team's activities wasn't something me or the boys were 100% on board with. But she was insistent. She didn't threaten us with blackmail, which did at least put one worry out of my mind. But she just kept saying that she would just find us again regardless and that passing up on having an inside man would be doing ourselves a disservice. Uncomfortable as it made us, she had a point. So, we agreed to let her join us on the condition that she allow us to conduct an extensive background check on her, just to be safe. She claimed she had nothing to hide and gave us her full cooperation, even filling us in on details an internet search wouldn't provide us." ~ Sly Cooper

Sofia Isabella Asellia was born to a very rich, very big, and very religious family in San Jose, Costa Rica. Her mother and father were, and remain, the CEOs of the biggest manufacturers and exporters of many of Costa Rica's biggest exports, from different foods, fruits and vegetables, to textiles and technologies; if they didn't manufacture and export them personally, they were in business with and supported those who did. Savvy business practices and many connections with hundreds of dozens of companies around the world built over the last few centuries in the family helped to amass a massive fortune for the Asellia family, making them among one of the richest families in the world.

While you'd think this would lead to greed and corruption, and many of their grandfathers and grandmothers had been known for shady histories, this was far from the truth in recent history. Her family was equally famous in their business practices and their humanitarian work. They were stupidly wealthy but behaved very much like that sweet wholesome family that all the neighborhood kids could go to to get away from their rotten families, hang out with friends and have dinner and sweets. Their fabulous mansion, built to house dozens, was open to anyone and everyone who needed room, food, clothing, or any kind of support; it was even opened up to tourists! While tourists did have to pay to stay there, their money always went to helping those in need, either donated to charities or financially supporting others.

Sofia, like all of her other brothers and sisters, was raised under the philosophy that those with money, power and the ability to help should use their assets for good. Her many brothers and sisters went on to build a variety of futures; some grand and luxurious like their parents, some more humble and content. But all remained close at hand to help support their family and those around them, and Sofia was no exception to this way of life.

Growing up, Sofia was always noticeably... different compared to her siblings and parents. Her family was famous for being massive party animals, or otherwise big extroverts, loving the big family gatherings, parties or holidays, and as much as Sofia loved it all too, the hustle and bustle was often draining for her. She was a quiet, unassuming child and preferred to be on her own doing her own thing. She had somewhat more mature tastes even as a child, loving calming and relaxing classical or jazz music, the tranquility of painting, and even taking up ballroom and ballet dancing. She always found herself drawn to elegance, class, maturity, and beauty, and as a child, she loved to pretend to be elegant queens and princesses ruling her kingdom with fairness, kindness, and a willingness to protect from the dangers of invaders (namely her older brothers invading her kingdoms or pretending to be a ferocious beast.) She never held a disdain for more childish or energetic endeavors, it just rarely suited her.

As she entered her pre-teen years (around 11-12), she began learning more about the nuances of the world, the complexities of morality and right and wrong. This was also the time where her parents began to become more vocal with her about the teachings and beliefs of their faith. As she grew up, she began to learn of her parents and their many business partners doing things that the uninformed could argue were... less than honest. While it could be argued why their partners did what they did, her parents never did anything unlawful for their own gain. There was so much more they could do with their massive fortune that required them to skirt around law, regulations and proper procedure in order to get accomplished under the protection of lawyers and many people who were willing to stay quiet. Her parents taught her that while it was important to do your best to stay out of trouble, it was just as important to do what you feel was right in the eyes of God no matter what, and "Help Thy Neighbor" was a commandment they were dead set on adhering to, even if the laws of man frowned upon it. It was never to hurt, only to help.

This philosophy is ultimately what helped to kickstart Sofia's focus on her faith. While she'd always grown up in a Christian household and was regularly offered the Kids' First Bible Stories version of the faith, it wasn't until she learned about this nuance that she became more deeply fascinated in her faith. She sat down and read the Bible thrice daily; once in the morning, once during lunch, and once before bed. She began visiting church outside of the usual Sunday service and charity services, speaking more frequently with the local priest, Father Trembley, traveling the world to visit more educated religious leaders; whatever it took to become more well-informed.

It was at around 15 years old, when she was still deep in her studies, that she learned of her natural ability in spying and investigation. Her parents had recently entered a business partnership with a local pharmaceutical company, and from the moment she first came face to face with the CEO, Sofia did not like him. Though he was outwardly very charismatic, she got unpleasant vibes from him almost straight away. She did her best to keep a respectful distance whenever he came to visit on business. One day, during one of her parents' big parties with most of their benefactors and much of Costa Rica, she happened to overhear the old armadillo talking to his aid about redirecting funds that were supposed to be going to the charities and workers that he bragged to her parents about to his own company and many bank accounts. Money that he was largely getting from her parents.

She knew she couldn't just go telling the world without evidence and causing a scene; there would never be a formal investigation if she did such a thing, and the scandal it would bring to her parents would be devastating if she didn't have proof. And so, she snooped. Over the next few days of the party, she recorded private conversations, took secret videos and photos of the conversations he was having to document when and where he was having them, and even snuck into his room at one point to get picture evidence of the contracts and fraudulent bank statements. She went a step further and snuck into her father's office to compare that to the files the armadillo had shared with her father to show proof of the discrepancy. Only then did she present this evidence to her parents confidentially.

Interpol was brought in. Because of the evidence that Sofia had compiled, more investigations into his activities were conducted. He was ultimately convicted of fraud, extortion, lack of worker compensation and worker endangerment. He was sentenced for 15-20 years in prison, his company was taken over by his far more honest brother-in-law, and Sofia was hailed as a hero by her family.

Once all the buzz had died down, Sofia had time to reflect. Sneaking around and spying on this man was mostly just done out of a want to protect her parents' business and all the workers being affected by the man's greed, but it was a kind of thrill that she had never experienced before. She enjoyed getting to the truth of the matter and making sure that the guilty party was made to face the consequences of their actions.

Throughout high school and two years of university, she went on to independently and formally study up on investigative journalism; both to make her own living disconnected from her family's fortune, and to add a little excitement to her otherwise peaceful life. She's been drawn to the thrill ever since that first informal investigation. To this day, she travels the world in search of excitement, new sights, new faces, and new stories.

- She owns her somewhat smaller private mansion on a separate coast of Costa Rica as a means to getting some privacy from her family and their many house guests. She loves them all dearly but does enjoy her privacy and some peace and quiet from time to time.
- Main character inspirations include: Kala and Jane from Tarzan, Chicha from Emperor's New Groove, Sarabi from Lion King, Duchess from Aristocats, and Charlotte from Charlotte's Web.
- Not relevant enough to be included in her overall backstory segment, but important to keep in mind: She has only been in one romantic relationship, with a wolf when she was 16. It became very toxic and abusive, even leading to physical violence at one point. She left him when she was 18 and is far more cautious of forming romantic relationships now.
