Title: Texan
Or (A little bit of history)
>Duration
♦ about 4:30 hours
>♦STORY
okay
my grandpa, was a pilot
i dont know if you noticed,
but im from a country called Guatemala
Well the thing is
He used to fly planes,
back in the 50s and 60s
he used to fly an AT-6 Texan
and heard they used to call it "Rabbit"
i dont know exactly how the plane look was.
i remember seing some pictures,
dont remember them quite welll.
THE THING IS..
that if we supposed this happened in a little country called Guatemala
then the Guatemalan AT-6 Texan
is from the FAG (Fuerza Aerea Guatemalteca)
and then i was able to find some pictures
and use them as references to see how the layout was.
its supposed to be a trainer aircraft.
> Inspiration sources
♦ A little bit of history
♦(FAG) AT-6 Texan
> about the technique
♦ Paint the brush
♦ Photo Scrapping
♦ used a reference of 3d model of a texan as layout
> about the species
♦FAG AT-6 Texan
the 209 is a real plane in exhibit,
theres real photos of that plane.
♦ A random dude.
>♦GRIPE
Well....ummmmmm.........
im fine.
>♦CRITIQUE
Okay see,
i dont think im good at this
i always see my paintings and think they suck
and always cringe when i see them..
but i do my best.
And as you can see, I barely know how to paint planes
but defintely can´t paint on planes...hehe
look at that wabbit!
it suuucks..
>Recommendations
I think im getting to land on a visual style that is very forgiving,
not so demanding, very practical and flexible, and still enjoyable.
but i do have to give my special thanks to 3D,
even though im using a very basic layout,
i think that is really whats making the magic
specially in terms on resolving perspective.
then all photo scrapping or photo bashing is useful for lighting and values.
i dont think i should put this on the category of 3D
becouse theres no rendering whatsoever.
no lighting, no background, i only a extracted a basic cast shadow.
and the only 3d here is the plane, a very basic model,
not even fitting with the final colors and layout.
...........................
.....................
okay you know what,
i place it on the 3d category
just because using it, really makes the result different.
even though its not a significant use.
and the results are functional.
but then i go back to look at the painting.
and then i think "it suuuuuucks"
.
