Kamadan hanging down the side of a 45m cliff (FurcoNZ 09)
Kamadan the Snow Spottycat abseiling down the side of a 45 meter (~150 feet) cliff besides Hunua Falls. He seems to be enjoying himself very much, and striking a pose while dangling half way down.
This photo shows the second half of the abesil down where it's "free-fall" all the way down to the base, the previous photo (this one here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3141009) gives you a perspective of how big the cliff is.
More photos and details have been posted to my LiveJournal entry here: http://lyctiger.livejournal.com/22498.html
Photo taken at Hunua Falls, Hunua Range Regional Park, Auckland, New Zealand at FurcoNZ 2009 (late November 2009).

Great shot! kinda reminds me of going out the side of a Helo at 100 M and the only way you were getting out of the helo was on the rope.... That was over 30 years ago... Some of the stuff I did in the Army kinda scares me now.... Ahhh but a lot of things have changed in the intervening years.

The first few times out the side of a helo do cause butt pucker... After you have done it a few times it's not a big deal....
We were also trained on an extraction system that took you from sitting on the ground talking to the jump master to 50 60 feet in the air at a speed of about 100 knots then into a net.... If it was for real it would have been just you and the rope/cable till you got to the plane.....
Like the song goes.... "C 130 going down the strip. Airborne Daddy gona take a little trip...." No I was not Airborne but I may as well have been....

Ah, I don't think abseiling down is *that* extreme, then again, one of the reasons why I did it (in fursuit) is because I haven't seen anyone else doing that before... thought it might be something different. :)
And thanks for the link, I will go check out this

Well, I was looking back at all the high-res originals of all the photos of the day and nothing's really "showing" for the rest (it is a pair of bike skinsuit afterall so there's quite a bit of chamois padding, plus I'd be wearing 3 layers of spandex already), so really methinks you are reading too much detail into a photo. To be honest that's probabally just a fold in the fabric (as the front zipper seam ends just there) that got "bucked up" because of the straps and showed it off as something else in this particular shot (and you interpreted it in a particular way).
That, and if you were dangling off a rope off of a 45m cliff, the last thing one would be worried about is how the photos will turn out. I'd be thinking more about how to get down from the cliff safely.

Well, according to another bunny (don't know if you know Thipher, he came from the States) who was waiting up on top of the cliff for his turn, I was just being an attention whore... thus, abseiling down in fursuit!
I actually did e-mail and ask ahead with the instructor if it was alright to do it in fursuit, even sent him photos prior too. And well, he gave the green light so, off a certain Snow Spottycat, down a 45m cliff.

Having been in the US armed forces doing things like that in the dark were the norm. You learn to tell if every thing is right just by feel.... Just like striping and assembling the M16 in the dark... You do it till you get it right....
I'm also sure the Fur on top with him was being a spotter to make sure everything was right before he went on the rope.

Well, the Snow Spottycat suit is similar to the one you saw/commented upon (the Silver Tiggy suit). It's pretty much a stretch velour "fur"suit body in conjunction with my Snow Leopard fursuit head in this case. So this is more than just tights, in fact its a whole bodysuit that covers everything up to the neck.
The spots are airbrushed onto the suit directly, and similarily on my Silver Tiggy suits the stripes are airbushed on.
