In the sense that any leopard seal is distantly related to any other one. Selene is what I call a Colossus, a creature with no "limiter" and the ability to keep growing nearly forever. They are often very long lived and can reach enormous sizes. Natiq is a more conventional creature, he weighs a thousand or so pounds assuming he hasn't eaten lately.

Most of my preds can digest bones. It's stull like swim fins that give them trouble. But yes, Natiq will digest and pass the dolphin's head long before its tail reaches his stomach. He'll certain relieve himself of some part of it while the tail is still hanging out, since a carnivore's digestive tract is pretty short and an enormous stomach doesn't leave much room for intestines.
The poor dolphins remains will be all over the place in the end... Hopefully he deserved it. At least he can be considered lucky he went in head first. I can't try to imagine his reaction if his fluke was first to go and eventually being pooped out while he slowly slides in deeper and deeper. The agony, the panic, the despair... Well... Maybe I CAN try to imagine it... :D
Occasionally people come to very bad ends in my stories. More than one person has been swallowed while wearing a breathing rig and end up getting pretty digested by the time they die. This happened both in The Fattest Dolphin and one of my Charlie the sea lion stories. Plus there was the time Salome swallowed a man in a dry suit and the acid had to slowly eat its way in. Suffocation is a better way to go. 83
Yeah, but prey is way too reluctant to stop breathing, especially when panicking, but ironically that way they waste their reserves way faster. :D

I kinda thought so, but my focus was less on the scat itself (which is often assumed in this context) and more on his body language and face communicating things like he is doing it right now, or the relief afterwards. So merely implying it is happening or has happened would be totally appealing to me. But it's also fine if it doesn't happen or get implied. That's what imagination is for. ^-^
Very much so, mostly because proteins can be digested by the stomach exclusively, and the remaining simple fatty acids can be absorbed pretty fast, so short intestine. Ironically, it's the complex carbohydrates and complex lipids that plants produce that need all that length of intestine to finish digesting and absorb. The downside is that all that protein produces a lot of ammonia, so carnivore kidneys are always under heavy strain (and often are the first organ to fail).
Ha, I laughed at Salome's alternate lines here! Always great to see more big belching preds from you Strega! Natiq turned out well here. It's neat to see you post the figurines you use for references - your feral preds turn out looking very good and natural since you use references like that. It's impressive you can make them so expressive too, like with Salome's grin here. The Stregaverse is a very fun setting too, I really like how well you've used hybrids and such so the "wholphin" here is a great idea.

Sadly the Schleich dolphin is too small to make a good art reference. I need a bigger one. The leopard seal is excellent, even the hind flukes are detailed and it is very useful to rawing Natiq. I was about to order a whale shark in case I draw one again but it turns out I already have one. Not a Schleich but a pretty good one.
Kind of as a follow-up to the whole "scat" question, I admit I'm rather prosaic about the whole issue; you eat, you poop. Having Crohn's Disease will do that to you. I don't much like seeing it drawn explicitly, though I think he did have a point; one way you might draw a "disposal" pic WITHOUT having to deal with drawing scat is head-only and by expression alone. In case of Natiq, it might not be a bad end to the sequence. Make room on one end, make room on the other - doesn't mean we have to see BOTH ends to get the point. ^.^
