It's meant to be representative of that because they're both based on OCs I wrote for some stuff I've been writing as a hobby for 15 years, which is set in a fairly dystopian, war-torn universe; the left one is essentially the manifestation of the left one's inner demons, a scapegoat to blame everything he's done wrong on, so he's meant to look battered and damaged from taking all that abuse- but not broken! (And as he's not physical, it works very well to represent what I've gone through mentally instead of physically. And that even a dog, battered and bruised and backed into a corner out of fear, is still a dog with a companion's heart inside, never giving up c: )
