The frog is one of my oldest characters, Freddie. A mage like Gordulp, but is regular frog-sized. He was an elf up until until young adulthood (and for a good chunk of the game he was in). A semi-antagonist psion ended up under the control of a very-antagonist necromancer who swapped his consciousness with his familiar, effectively turning him into a frog. And since the change was caused by psionics in a setting that didn't really have more psions, it proved... tricky to undo, to say the least.

As a frog he can still use magic, is physically much weaker (not that he needed his STR) and a little more evasive, so he's warmed up to it.

The mushroom? Oh, that's Geistault 's Rinori. ...as a mushroom. She met Freddie after he was already frogged. Seemed to like him quite a lot regardless. Why is she a mushroom? Freddie probably cast something with a weird misfire side-effect. It'll probably wear off.
