Much like the land races, the Ephoyric have been around for many thousands of years, and were unfortunate enough to encounter the Night of Aberration, an event that annihilated large portions of the civilized world. With cities initially in Balf and to the south-east of Quean, they were forced to flee from the fingers of mutation grasping outwards into the current.

Notably after the initial destruction, they were somewhat quick to rebuild, able to re-domesticate some of their bio-tech that had gone feral. And with the way their cities are built in three dimensions, resources remained fairly open to all.

Large city-states spread outwards across the ocean floor, eventually becoming decentralized into a selection of miniature factions. Through steady expansion and the peaceful consolidation of governing bodies, the result were two large city states, Queani and Quorine.
