Oh no! They're teeny-tiny now! How cute :3 I thought Gold looked cute with those glasses, but ultimately the call wasn't mine!

Anyway, now that we're far enough in there's a few things I'd like to talk about. Director's Commentary, if you will. First one being the middle panel there: I thought this would be a very nice spot for the eyes to change color, just seemed appropriate to me. A lot of people interpret it as a "mind change" part, where Malk's personality is overwritten by impiness. In truth, I don't like mental changes. At all. But I know people do, so I left it pretty ambiguous. But, really, there was no change, I'm just a silly person :3

Second is the design of the imps in general! I mentioned before, yes, they are largely inspired by Midna from Legend of Zelda. I liked the 'fur' pattern she had as well as the chibi look, along with her pear shape. I wanted to take things further though and design a super cute version that appealed more to me! I took elements from a lot of my favorite things: I gave them tails because tails are very cute. The ears I made super big and fuzzy, originally drawing inspiration from Nidoran (the pokemon). They have tiny little wings because it seemed appropriate, and I wanted them to be able to fly since they are so tiny... They need to get around somehow!

Speaking of tinyness, they are significantly smaller than Midna as well. They are, officially, one foot tall. When it comes to shrinking, that's pretty much around my preferred size. 6 inches is the smallest I can reasonably like, smaller than that and the world is just too large in comparison to the character, you start to lose the connection to reality. At least for me, that is.

As for body shape, this was sort of an arms race between me and Gold. I wanted to have the pear shape that Midna was known for, and I believe either Gold or I decided that, in contrast, Gold should be extra busty! That sort of led to me deciding to make my hips wider and wider to really sell that dynamic, so the butt ended up... Rather big =P It has only grown since then.

There have also been many many imps since this comic, as people really seemed to love the idea and joined in on the fun! So there have been a number of "rules" to the imps developed since then. I'll talk about those in the next pages description!
