Ugh I have so much to say about this. My biggest complaint is "Oh shit, this was so hard to make and I freaking burnt the bottom and it looks nothing like the fucking pictures", that aside, I think it tastes quite good. So here we have my attempt at making 참치전 (Chamchijeon), which is a Korean Tuna pancake. Next to it is a homemade sauce of a bit of Gochujang, soy sauce and rice vinegar. Anyways, here's the recipe.
Ingredients:
1(5 oz can) tuna in water, drained
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 egg
1 tablespoon of flour
1-2 tablespoons canola oil
Directions
1)Strain out the liquid from a can of tuna and place it in a bowl.
2) In another bowl add tuna, onion, minced garlic, Salt, black pepper, egg, sesame oil, flour to the tuna and mix it well.
3)Heat up a non-stick pan and spread 1-2 tbs canola oil.
4)Scoop a spoonful of the tuna mixture with a spoon and place it on the heated pan
5)Press slightly and round the edges with the spoon.
6) Make 6 small size pancakes with the tuna mixture.
7)When the bottom is cooked golden brown, turn it over and cook until both sides of the pancakes are golden brown.
*Total cooking time is 3-5 minutes.*
8) Serve with rice or with whole lettuce
