New drawing of my fursona Esava, with her Sun God deity by her side. Last time I drew her was 2015, but she has never left my mind. I have been developpig her silently. :)
She has not changed much, just minor changes: Her tail tip is now a fan of feathers like a bird tail. Because she spends most time flying. And something about her feet. Will make new ref soon.

About Esava:
She was once a normal human being from the Maya civilization. Lived around the 1400-1500 AD right before the Spanish Conquest. She was a victim of the sacrifice ritual. The Sun God was unhappy, and reincarnated her into a beast. Other gods also gave some "gifts" to her transformation. So she has the face of a cat, body of a monkey, wings of an eagle and antlers of deer, and there is some hidden dragon into her as well...
Now she is an assassin, and serves the Sun God for over 400+ years..

Really, I see that a lot. And it is plain wrong that artist don't do art for them self's.
That artist does art from self should be the very origin of all. There are many many reasons for that.
Biggest one being. - When you do art for yourself, you often seek to thrive, to get better, to experience something new, to try your limits. And when so, when one does for oneself, there is usually much more patience and time for questioning of what could be done better.
Not so when one is rushing under pressure to get things done for commissioners poking with long sticks.
Also when one does for oneself, it is much more inspirational and often end up being far more interesting piece to everyone than regular commissions.
+ combine all above and ones gallery ends up being far more interesting and inviting for customers that are far more likely go invest more than average commissioner.
Do more often art for yourself my friend. Thrive, enjoy, and bloom.
