"If you go down to the woods today... you're liable to get trodden on."
*GASPS!!*
No. I kid you not. Unbelievable as it may seem, a new picture has actually appeared in my gallery! You may have been forgiven for thinking that it would never happen again, but now, after four long months of bleak nothingness, I've finally got something done.
The unprecedented gap has been due to what I would deem the continuation (or perhaps more appropriately re-emergence) of the art block I was suffering from back in the early summer. Having managed to recover enough to submit two pictures in late July and mid-August, the subsequent car accident and the growing frustration over unemployment sapped away my enthusiasm again. I've been struggling to get it back throughout the autumn, sketching a few things and working on new pictures/animations behind the scenes but never having enough motivation to get anything finished for submission.
I wouldn't say this constitutes the end of the art block. But it is amusing where motivation and inspiration can suddenly emerge from - anyone on Eccentricities may know that I was fortunate enough to stumble across a random photo of a bear's foot on the MSN UK website whilst at work on Friday. Funnily enough, seeing it put me in the mood for bear feet for the first time in about 3 years, and I started working on this idea on Saturday evening. Unusually for me in recent months, I actually got it sketched out quite quickly, then spent Sunday afternoon colouring it - a refreshingly simple and easy piece to complete. Not without its frustrations at times, I should note, but much better than most things lately.
This is not technically a request, but it does fit very much in line with suggestions I've had from a certain bear-paw-loving Italian who knows who he is and is susceptible to suffering something akin to a minor aneurism as a result of seeing this picture. Sorry I kept you waiting so long, mate!
Lol!
I'd like to say that I'll be following this with a return to my usual rate of artwork production - in particular, I'm keen to get back to that backlog of requests (hold on,
draxi !!) and the much-asked-about 'Rexar & Mike - First Time'. Sadly, such a return to good form is enormously unlikely - starting full-time work at the end of November introduced new constraints on my time and freedom, and only by the miracle of having a free weekend to myself did I get the opportunity to create this picture. However, the Christmas shutdown is on the horizon, so with any luck, there may be some improved productivity between now and 2010...

After long sad weeks, months, years of prayers and blessing from me to you for a bear's foot art.. one day a fuc#ing pic gave you the input for a bear's foot art, you bastard!
>...and is susceptible to suffering something akin to a minor aneurism as a result of seeing this picture...
I saw that art just after dinner... i early vomited entire dinner for the surprise! And, right, a big aneurism is running just now in my head... but following from a the 'raise' of an organ inside my pants!
Wonderful art! Bear's feet deserve an art from you and finally you realized it! I love the POV perspective because i can see both entire sole and bear's face. Also peds are perfect, i'm sure they will fell, smell and taste so good!
So, 5 stars, and i leave u best comment i can shout: as arts about King Koopa's feet, THIS ART DESERVE A GREA CUM, FOREVER AND EVER! Thank you very much RRRex, it's a great Xmas gift!
P.S. I have just a little, important question to you, but i don't want upset you.. tell me if you wanna know it before...

Your art is quite perfect but... just a question that is running in my mind: after your bear foot stomp animation (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1509143/)... why didn't you draa a FULL-PADDED feet? You know i love them SO MUCH!

You know, I find it's nice to be able to just sit down and draw whatever comes to mind, even amidst work you have to get done. It's a nice refreshing change, and helps keeps things flowing. And the life situations never helps.
Glad to see something from you again, dude. :3 This is awesome and sexy as ever. I just love the broadness of it all.
Hey, how hard was it to draw in that extra toe, eh? :P
Hope to see more from you, and best of luck with everything.

Harder than expected! Especially because it would only just squeeze onto the A4 page!!
Lol!
It is nice to just draw without really thinking about it - pencil freestyling, I like to call it! - but I tend to find that I'm not very productive like that. This did however result from one such idle sketching session, so it was quite a refreshing change!
Can't promise that there'll be similar results from future sketches, but we can always hope. Thanks Modem!

Heh, I dunno if I can say more than I already said on DA, but here goes:
Absolutely and utterly amazing!! The perspective is so realistic! Makes me feel like I'm about to be part of the bear's large, soft pads O.O (which I don't mind, actually X3). Hehe wonderful pic, Rexar! The amount of effort you put into it really shows! And from what I can tell, the viewer is tiny while the bear is normal-sized. :P lol Anyways, amazing job! Good luck with everything, and I look forward to seeing more from you! ^_^

RipRoarRex posted a new piece of art!?! *Faints*
*Sometime later*
Ugh...whew. Well, it's sure nice to see you posting art again, even though bear paws aren't really that appealing to me. Still, nice work and I look forward to seeing what you come up with over Christmas!
Also, did ya watch the UK Championships recently?

Didn't just watch - I went to Telford to see it! Me and my brother spent the whole day there during the first round matches. Bizarrely - and I kid you not - we actually followed John Higgins driving his BMW into the car park. It had the words "John Higgins - World Snooker Champion" written on the bumper and we could see his face in the mirror!!
Lol!!
It's really weird at the Telford International Centre too - the players have to come down from upstairs and walk straight through the food court where all the spectators are. Stephen Lee walked past us as we were queuing to go in, Neil Robertson and Tom Ford passed right by me I was eating my hotdog, and we also got to see Willie Thorne and Jan Verhaas in the lobby. Surreal!!
I actually stayed up to watch the final last night - can't believe Higgins on that brown in Frame 15.
Anyway, thanks for your comments, Robshi! I know, it's been too long since I posted any new art! Heh!

Wow, you're so lucky to have seen it live! I couldn't have gone because I was in the middle of my end of semester exams. My last exam was today. I really hope I get to see a live snooker event sometime in the future. It must be fun to be that close to the players.
Yeah, I couldn't believe he missed that brown either. That lapse of concentration really cost him. Such a shame too, he did so well to get to the final too, all those close matches. I remember thinking the evening session of his semi-final wouldn't last very long at 6-2, and especially at 8-2. Then of course it went to a final frame shootout..."Come on John, just win already!"

Well quite - no offence to Ding Junhui but I'm of the opinion that Higgins v O'Sullivan should've been the final - whoever won that should've won the tournament. Still, they are calling this Ding's "coming of age" tournament, so you never know...
Hope you do get to a snooker event some time though - it's really cool, especially if you get good seats. Even better if there's a player there that you 'support', so to speak.

Great pic RRRex, im happy that you have retuned, im sorry for all that happened, and sincerly i hope all the things get better, i hope to can see your new proyects soon RRRex, i always love your pics and how they look, and i hope to can see more pics from you :)
I believe it! Sometimes it's a case of the image in your head just not translating well to paper, others you do it exactly as you thought, but then when you see it you go "eh... that... doesn't look right at all." The willingness to keep refining though is what makes a good picture in the end. With all the stuff you've drawn over the years, that refinement is really easy to see too.
Heh - quite a few people have asked that. I prefer to think that there is no right or wrong answer and leave it up to the viewer to decide. Personally, I like to think of it as a micro or small creature (e.g. mouse) in the grass getting a close up view of a normal sized bear about to stomp!
Yea! I got back to this! Sweet Bear sole RRR! :3 I love it. Dirty, Sweaty and Musky i'd expect from a bear walking in the woods :3 I'd love to meet up with this particular bear. I know i can't be killed so i don't have much to worry except having to be that bear's handy slave. (Shall I expect Mike to meet such a bear ;3)
