This is a project that my friends and I did for our AP English 11 class, we had to record it with my laptops on-board mic, so the quality's not that great.
Drums-Matty
Guitar-"The Bird"
Vocals-"The Fish"
You'll have to forgive my shitty drumming, I was doing things with jazz brushes that should *never* be done.... >.< and i was dealing with a falling floor-tom.
All in all i'd say its a pretty good recording for making up the whole song in an hour. The Bird and I wrote the lyrics. My favorite line are (coincidentally my own):
We got a job, there was fruit we had to pick
Then we found the Preacher striking, he was waving a stick.
“You don’t know what you’re doin’” were the last words that he said
He bent into the swing, the club hit him on his head (this one just for the way it sounds in the song)
Ma said “How’m I gonna find ya? “How’m I gonna know?”
Tom said fella’s just a piece of one, ain’t got a soul of his own.
I’ll be everywhere you look, I’ll be everywhere you seek
Whenever hungry men ain’t got nothing to eat (this one because I felt like a genius when i wrote it)
The family fled to the hills to find a shelter from the pain
The family fled to the hills as they were cleansed by the rain (cuz rain is an archetype for cleansing. lol)
The man was starved an’, he was dying, Rose could give him life
Now she knew, she understood, that Tom was always right. (again, just like how The Fish sang them)
Hopefully ill be able to record more of our songs some time soon. or maybe even a Marimba performance!
~Enjoy
