It's been a while since I sketched out a basic design for
enigma530's planeswalker-fursona and since then he's really taken it and made it his own. One such development was the introduction of a Venom-style symbiote that bonded with the character.
So when I saw the description of his sword, and how it manifests as a collaboration between him and the symbiote, I got reminded of a certain Devil May Cry game we're both fans of, and how a symbiote form is kind of like a Devil Trigger, right?
Well, what if it was even more like a Devil Trigger? What would that look like?
Maybe something like this...
The design is largely inspired by Dante's devil trigger form, with a sword meant to resemble the one he gets in DMC5, but with more of an organic motif than a rock-and-fire one. There's a bit of a tradition to have vaguely insectoid parts in Devil Trigger designs, particularly in Sparda and the artificial demons from DMC4.
I also tried incorporating some of the original design elements from his usual outfit, such as the gauntlets, glowing core in the place of his talisman and the runic markings under his eyes. It was also about time I drew the character with a bit of muscle on his bones.
Anyway, Enigma belongs to
