Lady on the left, Lucky on the right.
They were my houseguests this past week while my sis visited (so there wouldn't be 8 dogs at mom's house). Needless to say, my cats were not pleased, but the dogs behaved themselves. Their owner died in a car crash, and the relatives gave them to collie rescue, and now they're at Bonnie's Place, my sister's fostering home.
They're brother and sister, 8 years old, but hopefully this won't count against them getting a home. They're such sweet, polite, well-trained dogs, and after knowing me for less than a day they were thrilled to see me, following me around the house and shoving the back of my knees for petting. Wish I had a yard so I could keep them.
UPDATE:
Less than a week after this picture was taken, the dogs found a home with a nice couple whose dog had passes away. By the time my sis left she said Lady had already claimed the couch and Lucky was strolling in and out of the bedroom, completely at ease.
I love a happy ending.

I agree, puppies are cute but they're so stupid and destructive. And it's not like an older dog will love you less or anything like that. I really hope they go to someone who appreciates them, but then again my sis has a track record for finding good homes for older dogs. One, which we called "Grandpa Jake", was 10 years old and had bad hips, and his new owner loved him so much he carried the dog up and down his stairs. She also got xmas cards for years from the couple who adopted one of her first fosters, Candy, who I called Igor (because she would literally walk up to you sidling sideways and grinning, you could almost hear her saying, Yesssssssss, Mahssssssster!
