That us amazing coloring and shading!

I love these pictures you've been doing for Lauren. She has such wonderful characters, and Diana is one of my favorites. She looks so lovely here, and I like her rather thoughtful expression as she looks out over the city. Given her knack for getting herself into all kinds of interesting situations, I have no doubt that the day ahead will be full of interest for her. And probably quite a bit of danger. But, for right now, there's such a wonderfully serene feel to this scene, and a nice little note of hope, I think.

The background is simply gorgeous. I love the colors of the sunrise peeking between the buildings, and the flight of birds. The soft glow of the lamps in her room is really nicely done, too, and the one hanging over her head looks so elegant. It's so nice to get to see more fantasy/medieval work from you, too. You do it so well and I love how this evokes not just a single moment but a whole world out there to explore.

Wish I could see the sunrise. Unfortunately, I wake up too early.

I'm a naturally early riser but getting up before its actually light out SUCKS. I don't miss that for a second.

Might be one of the few reasons that I consider trying to go back to night shift.

Lovely. And I get to see the sunrise a lot. 3-4AM wake up, every damn day.

While I have lent some thought to Diana's life before the first large project I suspect getting up early is something she does a lot. Her mother leads the government where she grew up so she had a lot of private lessons and things of that nature. Afterwards when she travels with the group a life on the road tends to lean towards an early start, so odds are she wakes up before the sunrise pretty naturally.

I love the detail in this picture, the view out the window is super pretty. I love the look of a lady pulling a sock/stocking onto her leg like Diana's doing here, there's just something inherently sexy about it. While it was sort of a spur of the moment idea, I'm so glad you were able to realize it for me. :) Next month we'll be back to mermaids (because mermay) but beyond that we shall see. :)

Plus I'm looking forward to completing my set of bookmarks from you. :)

I'm already scheming ideas for MerMay, I hope I get to draw lots of them next month! n_n

Although I've yet to practically use them outside of the tub, I even have a few mermaid tails. LOL.
