Wouldn't Metroid (Switch remake) and Metroid: Zero Mission (Switch remake) be the same thing, sort of? But anyway, a spinoff starring those two would be pretty interesting, tbh.

Metroid (Switch remake) and Metroid: Zero Mission (Switch remake) are similar, yet very different. Besides, they'd look MUCH better in High-Definition and 3D. And I'm glad you agree with me on a spinoff starring Ridley and Kraid.
I agree, Kraid will get his time to shine. He would be an extremely fun playable character, especially since he's giant.
You got to admit, Kraid as a Master Spirit teaching the Tank Style is pretty much the first time he's given the role as an ally. And you got to like the new high-definition 3-dimensional render of his Metroid: Zero Mission look.

Heh, true. I was referring more to the story. I think a spinoff could work, maybe have it take place before Metroid/Zero Mission? Dunno how the gameplay would go, but I would suggest that the TRUE Final/Bonus Mission - that you would unlock through beating the other stages and S-Ranking(?) them - would be Ridley's raid on Samus's planet, K-2L.
