I've been reading a lot of Ray Bradbury lately with the old art deco type rocketships and such. Seeing this was like seeing a snapshot of the worlds he painted.

I wonder what kind of offense can get you in trouble. Sabotaging another ship, using illegal fuel, betting against yourself?

I think it was the point on his nose being like 15 inches too long or something. If I recall this posted in the B&W version, Correctly.

When i seen the inked version of this i thought the outfit was metal-grey or similar, but orange looks more for races indeed :):):)

The original of this gave me an excellent scenareo idea for a part of a story I was working on, shame my character is a red foxtaur! heh, I should have inquired earlier about the piece I guess. My scenario came out differently, not a race but simply fighter training, hope you don't mind me getting the idea from it? I doubt i'll be finished with what I write for a long time to come anyway.

Nah... I don't mind at all. That's one of the reasons why I enjoy posting my work on FA. It really makes my day to know my art and writing has stimulated someone else's imagination into action.

I have to think that the offense wasn't part of the racing per se. That gets much closer watched, and is less likely to get your sponsors yanked (except in an insanely competitive arena).

So... Bribery? Violating a morals clause? External legal problems? Immigration?

That's a very kind compliment, and I truly appreciate it. Thoughout my artistic career, I've been inspired by artists the likes of Kelly Freas, Vince DeFate, and a whole host of others who's names I can't recall at this time. Their works which graced Sicence Fiction book covers and the Magazines alike gave me the desire to become an illustrator, but I better prefer being a "Comic" artist. I deal less with Editors that way.

Wonderful detail on the lower torso suit. Very cleverly designed. You always manage to do such good old-fashioned Sci-fi work.

What a great memory you've got. Yes. I drew a similar image waaaaaay back in the early 1990s for Centaurs Gatherum Fanzine. I was never "Satisfied" with the original image and it relenquished for many years until I decided to redraw it in 2008. I guess my rendering talents are just starting to keep pace with my imagination.

Hehe... I never noticed the patches on his suit before. Nice touch. I imagine well be seeing something like that in real life very soon. :3
