Divine grass!

Pretty sure that's a foxtail. They're pretty plants, but they can kill a dog, since the seeds have a way of acting like a splinter that can only move in one direction. If you spot them while they're stuck in the coat, they're a nothingburger, but if they go undetected, they can migrate into a large blood vessel and cause an embolism. In the brain we call that a stroke, in the heart a heart attack, and in the lungs it's a pulmonary embolism, and they'll all make you very very dead.
