The Great Marshall of Hell was the resurrected Dr. Hell, and the replacement to the late General of Darkness, taking control as Supreme Commander of the whole Army after the various failures of the Generals to defeat Great Mazinger. What was left of the Man once called Dr. Hell was infused into the cockpit of a Giant Robot of himself, which had a mustache beard and long hair – it was design in a Medieval Warriors motique, with a long claw for a right hand, wearing a black and red cape and adorn with 4 white horns as well yellow shoulder padding. His Body was painted light and normal purple, with yellow fore arms. Like the Late General and Argos, he had curved pointy feet. His only weapon was his Right Hand Claw, and in the anime he could move from place to place via a Tornado (though this was seen only in his introduction in the anime).
As the Great Marshall, Hell could be a difficult person to work with; while been loyal and grateful to the Emperor for the second chance of life, in both the Anime and Manga, he was driven by his single desire of Revenge – to destroy the Mazingers, Juzo's Legacy, and erase the memory of his defeat as Dr. Hell during the final battle with Koji and Z. This became an obsession that at times made his Subordinates question his rational, his lack of Charisma and Honor, which the late Great General had, made it difficult to be around with at time and many did not taken to the new Supreme Commander fondly, except General Rygern, and was in constant animosity with Argos and Janus. In the Anime, this insane Drive of his would be shown on full display when Koji and Mazinger Z came back to assist the Great Mazinger in Battle, the Emperor sent out Argos as a stand in for him, but the mission became the Intelligence Minister's final mission before his death.
The Marshall's Greatest contribution in the efforts against the Empire's enemies was the Multi-Terrain Battleship Demonica, which became the new flagship for the Empire after the loss of the Mikelos, which he built to resemble his Flying Carriers, the Gool. And much like Gool was the Tomb of Dr. Hell in the final Battle with Z, Demonica became his (absolute and final) Tomb after Kenzo Kabuto uses the Fortress in a Kamikaze attack that damages the ship, but ends up costing his life. When the Mazingers and the Female Mecha joined forces with their energy attacks, the overheating causes an massive Explosion, which kills the Great Marshall and all of the Empire's forces on board.
In the Manga, The Marshall is much more brutal in his tactics, Holding the Japanese Government at Gun Point by threatening to release Poison in the Waters of Japan, if Great was not surrender, and set up a weapon in Space which can target enemies at any direction. In the Onslaught he kills Kenzo, and in the final battle, with all the other Robots damaged, Tetsuya fights with the Great Marshall and activates the self destruct, killing himself, destroying Great Mazinger and the Marshall.
The Marshall's last major appearance in the Mazinger Media is serving as Dr. Hell's Personal Mecha in the Climax of the film Mazinger Z Infinity.
