I've always wanted to see my Wendigo/Ent creature character "Mrithun" depicted in an art piece far beyond my skill level and see what the result would be - well here it IS!
This spectacular and highly realistic detailed art piece was everything I wanted and more when I commissioned the wonderful

I knew they were the perfect artist for this dark fantasy themed antagonist in my novel Epoch of Earth and Stone; the current novel of my 'sona Hunter's adventures and struggles with living off the land and in a primitive lifestyle which he adores so much.
Mrithun is not a peaceful spirit, he is the lord of death of decay and the destruction of nature - the quintessential yin-yang. However, he desires as much respect and attention as mother nature does - else you may not have a pleasurable visit from this malicious creature.
Mrithun is a wendigo and ent hybrid, something akin to the Leshen in Witcher 3, but instead of the lore of the Leshen and the fabled deer skull of the Leshen and Wendigo, his skull comes from that of a SabreTooth Cat, long since extinct. This adds to the lore of this creature being such an ancient and fierce spirit.
I completely love how this piece turned out, the details and the atmosphere of this is bone-chilling and so admirable!
