Frances Hopkins is a rough and tumble kind of gal, mostly grew up on the streets and getting into trouble. Priscilla Palmer, by contrast, is a rancher's daughter. Well educated and generally more "civilized", though she doesn't think much of it. But Frances does, she thinks Priscilla is way out of her league but she loves her anyways and can't help the flirtations. Doesn't ever think Priscilla will return her sentiments (maybe she thinks of Fran as just a good, if odd, friend).

Little does Fran know that Priscilla is a raging lesbian with a love boner for Fran since the moment they met (which was coincidentally the day Priscilla saved Fran's life, and naturally Fran was an absolutely filthy little spitfire... c'est la vie).
