It saddens me to report that Kemono Friends 2 is not at all the continuation that fans had hoped for. Of course, who could really expect it to be after the entire team responsible for the first season and its success was replaced?

As an added note, Kemono Friends 2 proved without a shadow of a doubt that Tatsuki was the reason for the first season's success, and that he had indeed edited the script he received from Kadokawa. Why did he allegedly do this? Because according to him, the friends sounded mean and unlikeable in the script he was given, so he made them more, y'know, friendly. This good heart can also be seen in the shorts he made without Kadokawa's supervision, and again in Kemurikusa, but it's nowhere in Kemono Friends 2.
