April 17th, 2019, and what better day to post the character I am currently most known for. Some asked for a bit more detail on Asheru and I thought it would be a good time to post her, in color as she stands, now. This year is the 20th year I have been sketching her, from her origins in the animation of a custom Quake II model, to a story, that unfortunately will remain unfinished, and finally the inspiration for table top RPG material, she's been walking constantly around my brain since. So on this occasion, I present to you, Asheru of the Cedar Tribe, daughter of Arun & Ninámüe, reluctant adventurer, and hopeful friend. Digitigrade walk cycles tend to look like that, with a lot of hip sway and roll. I have animated these walk cycles in the past, and that attribute has remained with me. Look at the Kamino from Star Wars, where the hips move like precision Swiss movement. There are individual Variations, but in general it tends to be fairly graceful.
Actually, on that note, is modelling walks why you give them relatively short lower legs/calfs? It's something that seems to intuitively work but I'm curious about it. It seemed common on at least a couple of styles from a decade and a bit ago (e.g. you, Silber, Brian Edwards)
Well you can animate anything to walk. In fact, one of the typical walk cylke excercise is making a bag of flour plausibly walk. But as to the short calves, it's I think more of a proportion thing, in that the torso to leg ration is about the same as a human, but the leg gets a bit more leverage for speed and bounce. they are a little leggier than a human of similar height, but not that noticeable. Could be, that it's a style thing. Most people today use a shorter hock and cannon, or a more animal leg with wider thighs. So it's probably style.
You do so much right, it's hard to keep track of every detail, like I remember the comparison between summer and winter fur. Not that I think others do it wrong, it's all about an artist's point of view. You include a lot others don't, like digitrade legs and others.
I don't think it has been mentioned before, but it is a joy to see a loincloth done right. Not just right, but adapted to anthropomorphic characters. Given, just a piece of cloth hanging down from the front of a belt can make some erotic point of view from the backside, but in many cases that wasn't the point of it. Too often the are meant as a functional piece of clothing and are done wrong.
And I also do appreciate the extra sword belt.
As I said, you do so much right, I could go on for a while as I enjoy the details as a fantasy fan and a dabbler in historic lore.

Very nice lady, always loved your style, the sketches of these characters are always great I think.
Not sure if someone's mentioned it (I had a quick look through all comments but I may have missed it) But is the second word down supposed to be 'Inexperienced' ? There seems to be a p missing.

Awww Sweet Asheru!
I always smile when I read her mom's name :3
While I think Wielder would be more fun, ah, at night, perhaps, I believe Asheru is more capable of a deeper pair-bond. Her innocence and inexperience IMO would leave her more open to affection, even though she may not be as outgoing or bold. I would LOVE to see someone giving her a sweet, genuine hug, and her enjoying it tenderly =D

I really like the choice of underwear and light armor that you have. It reminds me of a skimpier mokko fundoshi that was once worn as liesurewear in Fuedal Japan and throughout history until after WW2 when Japan moved to modern undergarments. Also in India they wore a various type of what is known as Kaupinam which was worn as another active undergarment. Come to find out though back in 2012 they discovered that men wore skimpy undergarments as a sign of dominance and male rulership, wealth and power. http://www.pilloledistoria.it/2655/.....truale?lang=en
I'm not sure if this sort of history is interest to you but I found it an interesting concept and how the evolution of technology and people has changed in fashion.

I love this! I would love some sort of animated/story (comic?) of this world! Regardless, each submission is treasured and appreciated! Asheru is one of my first and strongest memories in regards to getting in the fandom (YERF and whatnot) and despite the passage of time, anything in regards to her is still anticipated with just as much enthusiasm as when I was in High School. :)
