Fowle was still alive. And living in the Boston area, no less. So there could have been any number of reasons why the family didn't go with him a second time. John Homer was also a Boston resident, and the 2 were peers (JH even did the inscriptions on some of RF's stones). So it could have been a mutual recommendation, perhaps.
