An interesting concept. For her lover Stardreamer wanted to do that with her. I also had thought she meeting a younger buck who was arrogant enough to think he could do his own walk at 13 as well. That's part of the undiscovered country we'll explore in the 2nd and 3rd acts.

I had hoped, even back then that I'd portray her personality and although I'm still sort of in the dark dealing with character development I'm surprised how well it came out even then. Yes, I see all spiritwalkers training all their early lives for this but even the training doesn't fully get them ready for the physiological aspects and individual survival is 80% physchological from what I read. Then Deer are herd animals, and being uplifts, makes it even harder for them to do this.

Not to mention the dangers outside of the tribal area. (such as the Nightbeast) or even humans as we will see in the later part of the book.
