Torres and Zafyr both originate from highly futuristic worlds, and while their respective factions may not have ever interacted with one another, there's still a bit of perception involved when you have a former space marine and an active leader of a mercenary group of synths.
Of course, the two are still friends, but a bit of ribbing about each other's occupations, current, former, or perceived, is still bound to happen, especially when you mix in a cocky fluffdragon.
I wonder if they're simply prideful about whose tactics would win if they were pitted against one another...
