Francis Tidebeak is a brave sailor. Here, you can see him standing at the bay, watching the sea raging and boiling. He's not afraid of the force of nature, even though the waves are furiously rushing around him, almost challenging him.

You think bravery's going into a fight, straightfaced, and coming out without ever fearing you'd lose.
That ain't it.
Bravery ain't not fearing, it's not letting the fear consume you.

Instead of taking it personally feel proud of the fact you came up with a great idea all on your own. Besides-humanity is full of great ideas repeated and recycled. It's like there's anything shameful about it. If good knowledge wasn't repeated and/or passed on society wouldn't progress. All a functioning society is is a collection of good ideas that proved so popular they ended up codified as a social contract.
Overthinking is spending too much time to figure out things that are simple. Reading too many details, motivations and insinuations into them. For example you're placing too many expectations on yourself as far as coming up with 'original' ideas. There's no such thing as original ideas. There's just different ways of people thinking them up. Different contexts and situations that lead to those ideas being thought up. Sometimes ideas are there all along they just needed the right context to come along for them to be appropriate.
Take equality. The equal treatment of all human beings. Seems obvious, right? We all treat each other as being equal and things like racism and prejudice and the hate they engender are reduced. Such basic ideas yet it took the human race a long, long time to figure it out. Even then there are many people to whom those ideas seem foreign or 'wrong'. Just because the ideas behind equality have been thought up before doesn't mean it's a bad thing if someone else thinks it up on their own.
The only time it's bad for someone to think up an unoriginal idea is when that idea is a bad one-and by bad I mean harmful to themselves and others. Some bad ideas are good ideas in disguise.
